Personal Narrative: Kona Waves

Improved Essays
I’m sitting on the chair eating Kona Ice, not being able to comprehend that what just happened, almost killed me…. it was my birthday, so I wanted to go to a water park. Eventually everyone started to be tired of swimming. So I went to the wave pool not knowing that no one came with me. The waves hit over and over reiteratively until conclusively it stopped. I didn’t realize that it had bigger waves than any other parks I have been to. After it calmed I grabbed a tube to sit on. The little waves started to come so I started to push the tube back toward the shore… CRASH. It was my birthday, so I decided to go to Ocean Breeze. Most of the day I stayed with my friend Ryan and his sister Trinity. We went on a great deal of rides from there

The night was frigid. The winds had picked up to about 15 to 20 kilometers and the temperature had of course dropped down to about minus twenty to minus twenty-five. Scott had been at a party with friends and had gotten somewhat drunk off all of the booze he'd had. A rocker through and through he had on a t-shirt over top a long sleeve and a leatherjacket, ripped up jeans and running shoes. Not the greatest for the conditions in which he was walking home in.…

If I was granted one wish, mine would be to unfurl the mystery that is a dog’s dream. Koda’s twitching paws, fluttered breathing, and muffled whines prompt me to wonder at the source of agitation in her serene slumber. How could a dog’s mind, so pure in its capability to love unconditionally, be able to conjure the evil within nightmares? Do dogs invent new scenarios, supernatural powers, or personal utopias within dreams, as humans often do? My mind ponders these questions as Koda, my nine-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever, yields herself to sleep and, quite possibly, an ephemeral world so idyllic that it exceeds human comprehension.…

A rehabilitation camp, the place where people go and when they leave they aren’t people anymore.…
