Kings Island

One day in the Summer, I went to Kings Island with my friends. We went on many rides and finally came to the Vortex. I had never been on the Vortex before because this was the first time we had come since I was tall enough. My friends had already ridden it before because they were tall enough. My friend Ryleigh said,” Come on Olivia, it will be fun.” I was so scared because there were 6 loops! I finally said that I would do it. The line was 45 minutes long! “No”, I exclaimed nervously.
We buckled ourselves in and the ride started to move, I thought I was going to die. The hill

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

As the daughter of parents who love to travel, I’ve had the pleasure of travelling across Canada and America as well as a few other countries from a young age. I have visited the loud and bustling streets of Tokyo and the ethereal gardens in Kyoto, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, walked the strip in Las Vegas, and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean in Martha’s Vineyard. Although I should be able to look back on a childhood filled with events and memories from trips, I find it difficult to recall most vacations without a visual prompt. When I flip through old family photo albums, I don’t recall much more than what is shown in their pages. The outdated clothing, the people, and the locations are seen in the images, and therefore…

JC Denton stood on the south dock of Liberty Island. Beneath his stoic, lifeless facade he was worried - deathly worried that there were no GEP guns to be found on this lifeless rock. Liberty Island had previously been ravaged by international terrorists several years prior, who exploded most of the Statue of Liberty in the process. He had been told that it was the work of the French group Silhouette, who claimed that France “was wrong to give America the Statue,” though he had his doubts. JC had been searching for a GEP gun - or guided explosive projectile gun, a rocket launcher said to be the last word in stealth takedowns - throughout the seemingly endless night.…

As I woke from my slumber, the warmth escaped my body as I left the bed. I got up to brush my teeth, the cold toothpaste touched my already shivering teeth. I try and help my family by making sure they are safe and that they have all the essentials they need to survive in these harsh conditions. I usually find these “essentials” in the garbage.…
