Personal Narrative: Kids Today Have Lots Of Technology

Improved Essays
Claim: Kids today have lots of technology to keep them entertained today, wherever they go. When I was a kid, that was not exactly the case. I didn't have a cell phone by my side or in front of my face at all. When in a car, I didn't have a television to watch movies on until I was eight years old, and even then, I had grown so used to not having it, I never really watched it. I didn't have portable game devices until I was fourteen. The most important stage of life is a person's childhood, especially early childhood, and electronics are doing more harm than good to it.

Support 1: When kids watch or play their electronics, they miss out on a lot of the world as it passes them by while they are in ride, in a car. I have some good memories in

As a child, I exercised my imagination by playing outside with my brother. My mind would put together an image or setting, completely different than what I was actually seeing, such as a rain forest, alien planet, or even a spaceship. Because of this, my mind grew strong. Because I was outdoors a lot, I became adventurous at a very young age. Kids today rarely play with their imagination, or even go outside because they are either watching television or on their Xbox.

Support 3: A child today will most likely grow up unhealthy because they aren't getting the exercise they need. Running in a game or watching someone run in a movie isn't the equivalent to actually running. Kids need to get outside and play, and explore. This will strengthen their bodies as well as their minds. Kids are too distracted to even want to go out and get some sun, causing them to become overweight. Children need their exercise.

Conclusion: Electronics clearly have a negative impact on children. It reduces their childhood too a game on a screen. They never really live like children ought too. Children should not be given electronics until they can work for them. A person's childhood is the foundation to their

What Technology Doesn’t Want You to Know Technology, in today’s society, has hindered man’s ability to function properly and maintain one’s independence. Although advances in technology are beneficial in making daily life easier, it will eventually cause society to be incapable of accomplishing even the simplest of tasks. This creates a sense of powerlessness that prevents individuals from being able to live without the luxury of technology. In Ray Bradbury’s story “The Veldt,” he warns society about the dangers that advancing technology can have on one’s independence through his use of figurative language. Technological advances have become an essential part of society that has an influence in everyone’s lives, but especially in the lives of children.…

Those devices are horrible for a child’s early development due to how they don't necessarily teach much other than how to tap and type, which you would obviously learn later in school. Instead, you could learn how to climb a tree, find certain berries, and even how to interact with others in the real world. In fact, I always hear about how today’s youth are much more incapable with surviving on their own or just having proper “street-smarts.” It is like all of this technology is only infecting the youth population, instead of helping…
