Over the past several summers, I have galvanized my sense of adventure and my love for traveling. I had the opportunity to travel with the Kenston Field Experience to several national parks in the western United States to study geology up close. I also traveled internationally with the Chinese Bridge Summer Camp to Beijing and Ningbo. This life-changing experience was so particularly rewarding because of the interactions I had with the local Chinese students I met. We taught each other’s languages and cultures to one another, and by time I left China I had gained a new perspective on how culture can shape an individual’s lifestyle.
