Personal Narrative: Junior High

Great Essays
Junior High. The pitstop between elementary and high school. It’s either the best years of someone’s life, or the worst. Luckily for me, junior was the best! Here I am, an itty bitty seventh grader looking up at the school that would soon become my second home, ready to face all of the new challenges that come with being in junior high. I mean I’m here for 8+ hours every weekday, so it’s safe to say that Warren’s my second home, right? Walking up to my new school felt like a movie scene where the new girl walks up to the school and everyone stops and stares at her because she’s so pretty and slightly intimidating, only this time people were staring because I tripped, plus I was wearing printed bell bottoms, which is kind of weird. I was so …show more content…
I went to Hume again and spent lots of time with my family. But then came 8th grade, which . At that point, I was just ready to leave the school and go on to high school, so I was ready to take on the year. I knew that this year would be hard, considering I was involved in so many things and my schedule was full of youth groups and church and baseball and football and every other thing my family did. I spend about 8 hours, sometimes more, a week doing church things …show more content…
I was doing good in all of my classes, even math, but I was trying very hard to do good in all of them, plus the workload was very high and hard. And then David, who is one of my best friends, broke his femur. That was such a hard thing for my friend group, since we didn’t know exactly what happened or what would happen, but it was nothing compared to what we would go through when he was in the hospital with sepsis, but we’ll get to that later. In December, I went to Colorado for a week, over winter break, and I had a blast! It was so pretty there and I took so many pictures. I’m not kidding… I took 300 just on the flight there! That trip was very enjoyable and gave me a break from my piles of homework that I have every

My years in high school were quite thrilling and adventurous. Starting as a freshman, I had no idea where I was going and what was going to be expected of me. Over the years I became involved with extracurricular activities which led to my primary interest I had developed in technology and the sciences. As a freshman I joined the Students with Future Interests in Technology Club, Spanish Club, and Robotics Club. These clubs stayed with me till I graduated high school and I have loved them ever since I got involved in them.…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

Freshmen year was honestly pretty good I had a lot of friends and had a lot of fun in my classes with them, going into Brunswick High School I was a little bit nervous just the fact I would be at the bottom of the totem pole now and would possibly be picked on by the older kids but it turned out to be just a myth, but some of them were definitely scary looking. Some other things I was afraid of was what the class load would be like I didn't know exactly how much tougher it would be but it honestly wasn't to much tougher than middle school. The teachers here were fairly nice didn't have many problems with them but they did definitely hold your behavior to a higher standard. High school was a change from middle school definitely just because…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

When I moved to Springfield Township from Cheltenham Township, I really despised the sudden change. I disliked almost everything about it but what I did not know at the time is that by my senior year I would eventually love this school as I molded it into a place that I wanted to be at. During the end of my freshmen year, I found myself with a new view of how I was going to cultivate at Springfield Township High School. After meeting a valuable presence that will have forever leave an imprint on me, I decided that I needed to get involved with school to become apart of it. From that moment, the following year, I signed up for the Academic Team meanwhile continuing the Word Language Club which I had joined Freshmen Year and Girl Scouts which…

These past three years have been the longest and the shortest of my life. The seemingly endless homework, long term assignments, and Wednesdays that felt more like Mondays made it seem like middle school would never end. Each individual day felt it took forever, but somehow, I feel like three years have been compressed into three weeks. I remember the first thing anyone said to me at Bigelow. “Welcome to Mr. Spiegels homebase, where people jump out from behind windows and hide under recycling bins”.…

Midway through delivering a lesson to my students, my classroom door flung open with a crash as though the Reckoning had come to collect my soul. In fact, in a non biblical sense, it had, but it wasn’t my soul on the line, it was my position as a teacher in the district. My principal, squatty and stout, with salt and pepper hair, and dark ink colored bags under his eyes stood in the doorway and raised his index and thumb at me in the same fashion small children make guns out of their hands and said, “We need to talk…now,” and then backed out of the doorway into the hallway. Quickly and nervously, I instructed my students of their task as I made my way to the back of the classroom and into the hall.…
