When I was in sixth grade, a family friend had died from a heart stroke, it is when the flow of oxygen in one part of the heart is stopped. This inspired me to raise money for research for coronary heart disease, a disease that claims the lives of more Americans than any other disease. American Heart Association had an event at our school called Jump Rope For Heart. This event had an option for us to fund raise for the research of coronary heart disease through the team of Buzz Aldrin Elementary.I had choose to fund raise, but after I collected money with the team, I took a step further and created a personal fundraising page online through American Heart Association. Fundraising helped me help others around the world being diagnosed with heart

Ask your self have I ever want to do or say something but did not because some told me I was wrong or I could never be and that I was doomed to be where you are now. If this is you than you let people rule your life; I know I do the same thing.…

Chris Linde stated “My job as an athletic trainer is to prevent injuries as much as possible. I also support with strengthening and conditioning, guidance in nutrition and sleeping, and I also make sure the playing area is safe”. When he was young, he always adored being around the athletic trainer. I have always lived my life to the point where I could never be described with the words ‘midlife crisis’. I drove my first car at the age of two, trapezed at the age of seven, zip-lined at nine, and now at 18, I can say I’ve skydived. As cliché as it sounds, making the most out of life is ask I’ve really asked myself to do. Senior year was coming into a close, and me, being myself could not possibly let senior year pass me by as a simple toss of an overpriced cap and a few soppy hugs. At the time skydiving was at the top of my bucket list.…

“It always seems impossible until it's done.” (Done Quotes). To start with a quote from Nelson Mandela about the impossible is how I began this class, I thought it to be impossible and how I would never reach the end of this class. As I joined in this class I figured my only goals were to finish with a passing grade and hopefully skim through the class enough to complete the course. I had heard stories from older students of the horrors this class brought through long essays and a tremendous amount of class work; nonetheless, I journeyed into the class and was quite astonished to find that the work was not difficult but inspiring and helpful.…

She had always loved the feeling of blood on my face, even when it wasn't mine. She was the night sky, a vast amount of darkness with holes all over that couldn't be stitched together. That's why I hid her under the bed so no one would ever find her, because if they ever did I would have to put them to sleep too. Her eyes were equanimity, I had to keep them in a jar beside me every night. They were the colour of an unencumbered rose , lost due to perfidiousness.…

We’re hurried down the street by Ans’ mother, practically running to keep up with Ans’ long strides and quick pace. All along the street, people poke their heads out, confused, though some are well on their way, the ones with work, I presume. The streets are soon crowded with mother and fathers, elderly men and women, teens and babies, small children and young adults. Now, we are no longer moving of our own accord, rather being swept along by the tide of human flesh. Now is the perfect time, I know pickpockets must be in the midst of this crowd, searching for an opportunity, and I believe I might have found one.…

Pretty much starting from the beginning, I had to re-learn many skills and tricks that I had lost after quitting gymnastics for dance lessons in fifth grade instead of joining the competitive team. I lived for gymnastics and I still do. Walking into the gym always boosts my mood and gives me a rush of determination.…

Every week this past summer I spent eight hours volunteering in Parkview 's outpatient pharmacy. My responsibilities included: restocking over the counter medications, organizing filled prescriptions, and assisting customers with their transactions. Through volunteering I met some outstanding mentors and felt as if I really made a difference to the employee’s at Parkview and the patients they treat. Being a part of Phi Delta Chi philanthropy committee allowed me to help plan and be a part of a variety of volunteer experiences. I want to change from poor diet, extreme stress, and lack of exercise, so not to tread down the same path my family has. Change is the most rewarding path to take, but also will be very difficult; regardless of the challenges, change must be made for the sake of my future. Before I began this semester in Health 101, I was making very poor health choices.…
