A very obvious setting where everyone has at one point interacted with someone that is different than their selves is school. That is where I have interacted with people who has had different taste in music than me, and different hobbies. Then there were a few people who I met that were completely focused on school, and they just did that nothing more. I even met a person whose beliefs are completely opposite of mine. There are many more people that
I have met that are different than me, but they have changed my perspective on things. One of the people that I interacted with at school really changed my taste in music, we did not talk at all before until I heard his music. I didn't really understand the reason behind it because it was

That is when I went over to him and ask him about his music and why he was listening to that instead of music with words. Then he started to explain to me that he listened to all kinds of music but EDM made him feel a different way, a way that other music did not I did not really understand him. He saw the confusion and he told me he would pass me some of his music so I could give it a try so I took it. I also met a guy whose beliefs contradict mine, he is an atheist and I am a Christian, therefore most people would not really talk to the other person unless they are trying to convince that one of them is wrong. When I met this person we were in freshman year and we had the geometry together. That is when we found out that we were both good at math and would have competitions on who would get the answer faster. Then we found out about one others beliefs and we had an argument to try to show one another that our beliefs were wrong.
However, we came to realize that the conversation was useless, we knew we

Some Phun Intended The first time you hear music, it is not even a sound. It is a feeling, a sensation one got from inside their mother. Whether it was Willie Nelson, Beethoven, or Slim Shady, the rhythm felt as such a small person stays with us. I was raised as a Protestant Christian. I grew up in Evans, Georgia, a small town in the heart of the south and a community where most of the people believed in the same things. I knew a few Mormons, a few Muslims, and a few Catholics, but the majority of the people in my circle were either professing Protestant Christians or raised in a culture of Judeo-Christian beliefs. I’ve always enjoyed talking to people about their beliefs, especially when they differ significantly from mine, but it was hard to do this in the small southern town where I was raised. I moved away from Evans in the middle of my freshman year because my dad got a new job in San Antonio, Texas.…

Electronic dance music, or EDM for short, has been a popular choice in music these past couple of years. Although I have heard it multiple times before, whether it’s on the radio or at a house party in Isla Vista, I am not too fond of this music genre. On the other hand, I have a lot of friends who enjoys listening to electronic music. Because EDM is a style that I am personally not used to hearing, I don’t see the appeal in it. So to understand more about the reasoning why people likes EDM, I had the opportunity to chat with Aaron Manaloto, who is a good friend of mine.…

Throughout life, music has had a major impact on myself. When I hear certain songs it makes me think of certain memories. The song, The Reason, sends me back to my childhood when I was growing up on 2000’s pop. Before all of my football games, I listen to hardcore rap, with the song Man of the Year. As stated before in our first lecture, dance is a living and fleeting art form. I believe that dance is a living art form because it is a three-dimensional picture to art. What I mean by this is that, art is normally seen on walls or as sculptures, but dance is an amazing opportunity to view art while in movement. If you are anything like me, when I look at a painting of two people or many, I always wonder what it would be like to see them actually dancing, singing, or even laughing. By watching dance, it is my living art form.…

Have you ever wondered why a song became so popular? Or why you always happened to get that one song stuck in your head? Well, those questions have been answered by Robert Jourdain in his nonfiction book Music, the Brain, and Ecstasy. Jourdain begins his book with the simplest aspect of sound, the first puzzle piece of how music became a worldwide sensation that can be seen in basically every culture on Earth. A writing experience that has stood out the most for me was when I was a sophomore in High School. There was a girl in my class who I wasn't so fond of who one day decided to announce to everyone that she had begun to write her own stories. She showed everyone pieces of her writings expecting to get nothing but compliments and be to deemed the class writer, but when she finally showed me her work I cringed at how deplorable it was. The stories had no clear perspective of whether it was written in first person or third person view, some of the simplest of words were spelled wrong, and many words were used in the wrong context. The class didn't seem to care for her stories so they just gave standard responses with no words for…
