As the team captain of my school’s volleyball team, I believed that I had a high chance of joining. However, I was injured in September 2014. Believing my doctor when he said that it was just a bruise, I continued to play volleyball. It did not get better so I eventually received an MRI in August 2015 and learned that my ACL was torn. It was demoralizing to be told that I could no longer do anything exercise-related until my surgery. My operation was delayed until February 2016. After my surgery, I was bombarded with midterms and since all I could do was sit in bed and study, I was increasingly stressed and constantly felt like a burden. When I was finally allowed to take off my cast, I immediately underwent physiotherapy treatment. Although I am still in the process of healing, I am slowly building myself back for sports. As I think about my experiences, I realized that even though everything seems to be going downhill, and it feels like I have hit rock bottom, the only place I can go is
