Personal Narrative: John's Incredible Pizza

It’s been one long week after the hurricane hit my town with a crash. I’m at home with my family praising the fact that it is perfectly fine and wasn’t damaged too badly from the blustery and blasting the wind and the downpour of the heavy rain. Our house was one of the few on the block to endure nature itself. I in the distance I see my friends and I’s favorite hangout spot, John’s Incredible Pizza. I’m worried about the building.
John’s has been that’s always been a part of my childhood. Ever since I met Tanner, Jacob and Mackenzie we’ve always caught-up each Saturday afternoon at John’s Incredible Pizza. We know some of the employees and they give us a discount because we return every week on Saturday afternoons. My first-choice game there is the Monkey Barrel game where I have to get all ten monkeys to hold hands as they skillfully try to swing back and forth causing mischief and mayhem on the screen. In the end, if you get the golden monkey (number ten) you get two hundred and fifty tickets. Over time, I became a complete master of the game.

I have countless lava lamps and many fake teeth. I had been saving up my tickets at the moment to get the GoPro for twenty thousand and five hundred tickets. For the last month, every time I would go to Johns I’d look at the GoPro and say with a determined face, “I will get you one day!” Last time I was there was last Saturday and I had a total of ten thousand and eight hundred and seventy-seven tickets on my card. I still had quite a ways to go. My friends had offered if I paid for half of it in tickets they would put in the other amount. I kindly rejected and said, “Sorry guys this is my win.” But today I soon faced the fact though that last Saturday may have been the last time I played the Monkey Barrel game at that particular John’s Incredible

When reading the stories of the people in the city, and the perspective they carried, one can realize how strong-minded the people of the city were, and how much they cared for their hometown. To begin, Rose mentions that the citizens affected by the hurricane were extremely positive despite the many losses and complications that came after the storm. Rose comments on how the city smelled terrible, and how the smell could not compare to any other. Regardless of the disastrous tragedy and loss of loved ones, the people oddly did not seem devastated or sad for the most part according to Rose. These feelings allowed for the people to…

The lights would beam and music would scream when the magical tokens entered the small slot of no return. I would grab the shiny joystick and maneuver it in such a way that it stood directly over the cutest stuffed animal that night. After walking around the machine to make sure the positioning was perfect from every angle; I would press the red button of prosise.…

He never stopped to wonder if anyone was behind him. My bright and completely theoretical idea was that he probably already knew I was following him, and didn’t care to question that fact. He was striking, in the sense that he stood out amongst those in a crowd of average tastes. He took on a sort of "punk-rock" look, with a badass leather jacket and half-calf lace up boots. His face had enough piercings and retro jewelry on it to smelt into a two liter can of diced pineapple, though actually, in retrospect, I don't think they make two liter cans of diced pineapple, nor do they make it out of various semi-precious metals.…

As Halloween came to a close recently, which was a time full of colorful candy and bright costumes, four years ago that wasn’t the case in the New England region. It was a time where new channels flooded our homes with the news of the storm, Sandy, that would soon approach. Among the miles and miles of our country's coastline, and just living along a small beach town. The damage that soon would come to our shores, had the ability to create instrumental damages to individuals, communities, and companies. My father, Robert Delaney, thought the forecasters were exaggerating just like the preceding forecasters were for Irene, but evidently that wasn’t the case for Superstorm Sandy.…
