Personal Narrative: Jelly Belly

In my house, my siblings and I aren’t exactly alike. You see, we’re the Jelly Belly’s. My parents are Juicy Pear and Red Apple and they conjured up many different Jelly Belly offspring. I’m Bubble Gum and I have two brothers. I’ll start off by telling you about Cinnamon, who is quite the hot head. He tends to get angry over minuscule things and it’s not a fun thing to be involved with. He tends to fight with our other brother, Berry Blue. As we arrive to school, I see my best friend, Cotton Candy. I catch her by surprise and she steals a hug from me. “CC! How your trip to the ocean?” I ask. “Oh, BG, it was amazing… you wouldn’t believe how warm the water was.” She replied. My attention was swayed when I saw Licorice walk past me. He is the coolest and most laid back bean in this school. His black shelling was dark as night. As Bubble Gum, he would go so well with my baby pink. I’ll never voice this to him though. I look up to see Licorice standing there. “I apologize for not finishing our conversation. Cherry forced me to bring her stuff, as she usually does. The only reason I don’t tell her to find someone else to be her lapdog is because Mrs. Jolly Rancher is my mom’s boss. I also don’t like confrontation… anyway, I wanted to make it up to you with this little dessert.” He grins. I’m in utter disbelief. I never thought he’d talk to me, let alone look at me. Life is full of little

It is common knowledge that while siblings may be related, that does not necessarily mean that they will look alike. Take for example, the two football players, Eli and Peyton Manning, one might wonder how two brothers do not really resemble one another and how that might be. The answer however is pretty simple; it is all genetics. Upon taking a closer look, it will be easy to see why this happens.…

Little did we know that it was not a good idea!!! We ended up fighting for the chair and he jumped on it and then I tried to get it by jumping on him and forcing him out but instead we spun around and around. The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

I had been accepted in the middle of my Canby high school days because of my excellent grades, leadership skills, and my confidence in speeches. Ever since 5th grade, she has taken my ideas into her projects, wowing the teachers and getting perfect grades. One time in middle school I caught her fumbling through my locker searching through my binder to find my lab notes during lunch.…

Being born as a stray cat means I have to scavenge for food, and one thing I learnt from being a scavenger for years is humans are mostly callous. One night, when I was still a scrawny, little kitten, my mom took me and my siblings to a temple, and afterwards left us under the shade of a mangosteen tree at the temple’s yard while she was looking for food. She said we would be safe there since a temple is a place for human to pray and they are not allowed to do mischief there. Hearing my mom said that did make me feel safe, but that feeling of safety did not stay for long.…
