I started to walk in that direction, not caring that the office was the opposite way, the way Georgina was going. What had just happened? Who were those girls, and why was Georgina going with them instead of me? Did she know them from camp? I kind of made a big loop around the school, but I eventually reached the office. It was the only place I knew how to get to. Sure I’d gone to sixth grade orientation, but the whole school was still a big blur to me. As I reached the office, I saw a long line of kids, all waiting to receive their schedules. Middle school kids. They all looked a lot bigger than me, and since I was alone, I felt more vulnerable. So I just got in line behind a boy who looked like a seventh grader. Thankfully, he ignored me, and I just calmly waited in line for my schedule. After waiting for about three minutes, the bell rang.
