Personal Narrative: Jacob's Life

Improved Essays
Directly beside my grandfather is my hilarious brother Jacob. When I look at this picture, I ponder why he is holding his pants up. First of all, he has shorts on so the water wouldn’t get on them, and secondly, the tide is low and wasn’t reaching us anyway. However, he’s being is ridiculous self. Jacob is the youngest in my family, so he keeps us all young. He’s a lot more mature than other 10 year olds, but that’s because he grew up around a lot of adults instead of kids his age. However, he is still a child and had his immature sides. Despite his immaturity, he’s a great person for support. I remember once when I was upset, after a breakup, crying and curled up in bed watching netflix. I had been there all day and probably all weekend when he came into my room laid down …show more content…
A “normal” kids his age wouldn’t think to do that; instead I would have been asked a long list of question about why I was sad, but Jacob knew all I needed was someone there. I just needed a friend, and he was the perfect person. Jacob and I fight like any brother and sister would, but we are a lot closer. I would do anything to protect him, and he is as protective as an older brother. He is smart, cunning, funny, and looks just like me. Even though he is my annoying little brother sometimes, he will always be my friend.
My dad is beside my brother of course. My dad would probably choose my brother if he had to choose a favorite, but that doesn’t mean he loves him more. Jacob and my dad are just closer because Jacob is the only boy, and no matter what they say every man wants a son. They have a really close bond, but so do Lauren and I with him. My dad and I have our own little things that make our relationship special. I go fishing with him every year, and we fish together all the time. Lauren and Dad did all he sports together when she played. Jacob and Dad do just about everything together, but it's good that

The character in Fences I most identify with is Cory Maxson, the son of the lead character in the book, Troy Maxson. He is my favorite character and the one I identify the most with because we are both young men who are driven and capable and who ultimately want to fend for themselves in the world and prove to our parents that we can make it and succeed in this life with or without any type of forced assistance or control from them. I do share some similarities with Cory Maxson but we also have some differences concerning certain aspects of our lives. Cory Maxson and I share some traits related to our relationships with our respective parents. Cory has a complicated relationship with his father, trying to prove that he can be a man, succeed…

I’ve usually learned in hard way because frankly, I love to challenge myself to expand my personal capacity. Although I had already talked to one of my classmates about having interview with her as a Caucasian woman, I decided to do it with my cousin’s friend, Jacob, who I met in my place for the first time during Thanksgiving holidays. Interviewing Jacob about his interactions with other cultures has made me realize that I have a lot to learn about the meaning of the privilege and holding it. Jacob was a 24-year-old Caucasian, who lived in Missouri his entire life. Though he was visiting California for the second time in his life, he was in a Persian house for the first time.…
