Personal Narrative-It's Time To Play With Lego Toys

Growing up sucks. When you grow, so do your responsibilities, expectations, and general interests. That usually means that many of the wonderful things of childhood, don’t seem so wonderful anymore. The stuffed dog that used to help you sleep sits in a closet now, gathering dust. That blanket that you adored lays tattered in a garbage bag somewhere buried in a storage locker. Most of all, the toys you played with are now put away, most likely never to be used again. Of course, you don’t care. That creepy doll with those blinking eyes could be gone forever and you would probably be scared if you ever saw it again. But deep down there's that one toy we all wish we could play with again and not be looked upon as mentally ill. For me, that's Legos. Those fantastic little blocks of all shapes and sizes fueled my imagination as a young boy, and were by far the best toy ever created. Without Legos, my imagination would be lacking. Life would seem dull without them. I wouldn’t be the person I am now.

As a young child, I don’t remember how I came to like or play with Legos. All I know is that I always had played with them. Legos are the best kind of toy. They are

Around the age of 12 or 13, my social initiative to play with Legos was gone, as was my desire to wake up at 5 a.m. to do so. But Legos will still always have a place in my heart. I can’t honestly say that I don’t miss those little plastic bricks. My younger brother plays with them now, and every once in awhile, I wish I could too. Speaking of my brother; watching how those affect his life has been rather fun. Each time he builds a new contraption or construct, it always seems more advanced than the last. Better than anything I used to build when I played with Legos. I can tell just by seeing these things that Legos are letting him express his creative and intellectual side; feeding it even. Someday, he might recognise how those little bricks affected his life

One rainy day, as the light pattering of rain on the windows complemented the rustling leaves of trees, there came a loud “Crash!". Startled and fearing the worst, my mother ran to the hallway to find the 4 year old me standing on a chair trying to reach the top of a ledge. ¿Hablas Espanol? "Mom where do babies come from?", I remember asking one day after preschool. She looked down at my innocent, four-year-old face that had dried snot and remnants of what looked like some sort of red candy from lunch still on it, and she quickly realized where the conversation was about to go. Every kid has those phases where they beg and beg for the newest Barbie or Hot Wheels car that all their friends have, but their parents know that if they wait it out, sooner or later the begging will stop and their kids won't even remember why they wanted the toy in the first place, but this was not a phase.…
