“Come on dude we gotta go to the arcade. Willie and his friend hopped in the car and his mom drove them to the arcade. On their way, his mom noticed that the car was on low fuel and they didn’t want to stop to get gas so they kept on going so we decided to take it slow and keep on driving. They really wanted to win that Xbox and hopefully today was the day, because they have nothing to do at their house and hopefully they can change that.

We didn’t want to push the car 5 miles so we kept trying to start the car over and over again. The only sounds radiating from the nearly empty gym court were the dribbling of a ball against the hard wooden floor and the occasional swish or clank of the hoop. Sweat drenched my red shirt, staining it a dark shade of maroon, and the shoelaces of my Nike Air Jordans were becoming undone, but I barely noticed as I continued to practice that Kyrie Irving move I saw during the 2013 All-Star Rookie-Sophomore game: cross between the legs, behind the back, in and out, cross left, step back, and shoot. Nothing but net. A quick thought crossed my mind.…

One thing coach loves doing, making sure I know how much I am accountable for. There is no comment to explain to me of how dependent I am on these upcoming moments for the team, so don’t make it any worse. Making It to the Big Time I am Vincent Crabtree. When I was a freshman in High School, I participated in an activity called “Winter Percussion”. It was much like marching band, but it took place during the winter and spring season, and it featured a smaller ensemble composed mostly of percussive instruments. Throughout the season, we had practice almost nightly, working to put together a show that would be performed in competition with other drumlines.…

As I walked up to the plate, I wiped the beads of sweat dripping from my head while I was looking at my 3rd base coach and he gave me the sign to wait to swing till after the first strike. I felt butterflies in my stomach as I stepped into the batters box. The first pitch was a strike and then the next three pitches were balls. The kid that batted in front of me had the same count count and he got a changeup down the middle and hit the ball to right field.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…
