Personal Narrative-It's Time To Play Basketball

When the game is tied up with 30 seconds left , nobody knows how it will turn out. Everyone is anxiously waiting to see the buzzer go off and someone is the winner. This time it is different because my team is going into another over time. If you’ve ever played basketball and the other team and your team are tied, you know what it feels like to be under pressure. You’re both trying to play better than the other and it’s chaos at that point. In order to overcome this obstacle I would have to play even harder when I know we’re down. This obstacle would change me because I didn’t want to lose; I would learn that in order to win, I would have to endure.
About halfway into the second overtime were both scoring back and forth trying to win and it seems like a piece of cake until someone decides to take the lead. We’ve wasted about 10 seconds and now the ball is in the air for us and all I’m thinking is “this is it”! As the ball hits the beautiful orange rim and sinks into the net, I jump in the air with excitement and run over to crowd my team because we just got a dub to better our record in the conference! Now were 3-2 in the conference. We get a by the first week because our record is the second best. Mentally staying positive plays a big role in majority of big wins. If you can’t take the heat, then you shouldn’t be playing. Most of the time people are mentally weak and will break down right then and there, but others will prosper from the competition and keep striving. Especially when in overtime , at this point I’m thinking smart. What do I have to do to stop the other team or what do I have to do to score against a certain player. I need to make up my mind and help my team do the
