Do you know what is going on around you? People being killed one by one. Just the other day a college student was killed on the sidewalk while he was riding his skateboard and people didn't even care. People don’t know what is really going on. Some people think that if it's a good day for them, then the whole world is perfect. NEWS FLASH, it's not. I know that at least 35% of the people on Earth at least try to help the world out a little bit. I guess that is okay, but some people have no choice. For example a kid is forced by their parents because his/her parents are total nut jobs about the world being a safe place and all. Another example is.......... NAH I'll tell you how it really started. It was a dark, stormy night in the city of Tampa, Florida. There I was typing on my blog that I barely started today in the morning. I was still thinking of putting a bonus on my blog so people would think that I have a lot to offer and want to follow my blog. I feel a little more safe now that I know that. But for some reason I feel a little worried because it could be inside my shin. Suddenly I smell smoke coming from the kitchen. I ran down to go see what is happening. Thoughts fill my mind, did the voice burn the house down while I was getting ready? Then reality hit me, it wasn’t the voice at all unless you call my mother the voice because she is the voice that always tells me to clean my room, all my mom was doing was burning the toast like usual. I can’t believe that voice character thing is getting in my head like that. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” I said out loud without

“People generally see what they look for, and hear what they listen for.” (Lee 232). This quote made by Judge Taylor is entirely accurate in my eyes. As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

Everyone knows the YMCA song, but everyone doesn’t have the same connection to it that I do. This building never contained one life changing event for me, but it has been a pivotal place in my life. A place I’ve referred to as home many times, the YMCA has shaped who I am as a man. This pivotal spot is where I suffered my first traumatic injury, changing how I do things for the rest of my life; but also was the place I went to when coping with family incidents. This institution, in particular the basketball gym, helped me find myself, changing my life forever.…

LONG.Session1.Journal I had gone to college the Fall of 1999, following my high school graduation. I had the dream of one day owning and running a bed in breakfast in the mountains of New Mexico. I attended a culinary school about 3 hours away from home and enrolled in Hotel and Restaurant Management. It didn’t take long for the balance of school and working nights to catch up to me. It wasn’t the college class work or the night time job that was difficult, it was the loneliness and financial burden I found overwhelming.…

The past week I kept a journal, recording how I felt at different times and different places throughout the day. This is the first time that I have written down and paid attention to how my energy level changed during the course of the day. I occasionally would think about how much energy I had or how drained I felt at different times in my life, but I never took the time to write it down and observe, so this was a new experience for me. I started my geography of energy journal on Sunday October 4th and ended on Sunday October 11th. The first day of journaling I had to work at 7:30 A.M.…
