Personal Narrative-It's First Time

I heard a clicking sound coming from the top. It was Beyoncé, her high heels were clicking against the glass stairs as she came down. In that moment I saw Beyoncé in person for the first time. My heart started to beat faster and faster, my hands started to shake, and my palms started to sweat. I was just about to burst out yelling like a 5-year-old girl, but then I kept myself composed. She looked amazing. She wore a bright yellow dress, matching yellow high heels, with a dark red sunglass in her hair, and had red lipstick. Of course GUCCI was written all over her. After all it is her favorite brand.

What’s next?’ I looked down, I paused, and then I could resist to ask.
“Did you know that your new album the lemonade was going to be such a big hit?”
“Well, I was expecting it to be a big hit, but not as big as it actually is right now. I thought that it would be informative both culturally and socially, but then also a great listen and watch type thing. When I was making it I wanted to inform. I wanted to share the stories. I wanted to target all ages of struggling women with this music video and also playlist, lemonade”
“I felt like Lemonade conveys a lot of powerful people in the history of pop art, African American culture, and education. It conveys a story which I think many can relate to.”
“Yes, I agree. And it has to or else the point of the whole thing isn’t there, right? Haha, I mean the issues that come up in the video are still issues today which people can relate to. And because of that, it’s a powerful key to motivate people to stand up for themselves and fight back!”

I realize that he was trying to just help and make the video album the best.”
The secretary came over and whispered something in her ear, and Beyoncé nodded.
“Well I guess this is it, it’s time for me go and let you go to your next event.” “It was very nice talking to you Dave, I hope we meet again soon.”
“It was a great honor meeting you. I also hope we can do this again. It was a great experience to interview you at such an extraordinary moment in your life.”
“My pleasure, hope we will have another conversation like this soon”
She stood up, I stood up, we shook hands and then the secretary came over. She gave me a gift, inside were two tickets to her next concert in Los Angeles, VIP and back stage access. I was so excited! I said thank you and was escorted to my car. The car that brought me here was waiting outside. I sat in the back seat, closed my eyes and saw little fairies. I was incredibly relieved and excited. Just finished a once in a lifetime opportunity interview and got tickets too. As I fell asleep I imagined the whole interview again…

This documentary "Dreamworlds- Desire, Sex, and Power in music Videos" tries to explain how the popular culture influences contemporary music video and how this is affecting today’s culture. “Dreamworlds” insists that these narratives and cultural attitudes have shaped these music videos into sexualizing women, and filtering the identities of both men and women into “myths” about sexuality and gender. The subject group in these music videos tended to be mostly about women and how they are misrepresented and used in popular culture. Overall I agree with the film message that these music videos are misleading and only demonstrated with one point of view in which the audience can see through. For instance, the women are sexualized and presented as mere objects of for the video and men as well.…

For example , Carole Kings it;s too late,” from her 1971 Tapestry album, boasted confessional lyrics that exemplified the genre: “There’ll be good times agin for me and you,. The first thing the 503.3 million viewers of the “Blurred Lines” music video on Vevo saw was Thicke lying in bed with a topless model while his arm assumes a dominant position over her body almost completely blocking her from the view of the camera. While this position may be perceived as simply cuddling, in the realms of this music video that reflects…

In Beyoncé performances and lyrics on stage, she always makes a visual and speaks on how it's important to be an individual, your own independent person that is powerful. Although, if women were to be more prominent in the world, life, family and work priories will crash fiercely. As long as women are bearing the children in our species, women will not view child rearing and child care in the same way as men do, and will prioritize the responsibilities around it differently. Beyoncé sings in harmony about how women run the world, but why don't we actually run it, women are capable of so many astonishing accomplishments, but they're all hidden by the shadow of a man. Women deserve to be prominent in the world we now live if it’s what they desire for; it shouldn’t be that hard to treat women…
