Personal Narrative: It Is The Humane

Decent Essays
It is the humane thing to do. Aya and the refugees are suffering and we can help. We cannot be selfish or passive about this. America is looked down on for its insensitivity and foolishness. Where is our humanity and love? And when did we lose it? Aya's story is powerful and should speak to everyone about the reality of what is going on for those like Aya. We must let go of our arrogance and ignorance and open our arms and instead of showing hostility.

I believe in President Obama and his intentions to make a change for the good.

And remember, America is land of the free, not land of the privilege.

Innocent citizens in Syria are suffering and fighting to live while some people just sit there and let it happen. Syria is having a civil war right now and the government is trying so hard to win that they bomb towns of people just trying to live their life, cutting life short for many unsuspecting people. Since the only reason I'm still alive is because people go out of their way to help me, I think that the fortunate people of United States should reach their hand out to people in need. First, the people of Syria are subject to in-humane means of destruction.…

These monsters wear a mask. The mask is so good in fact, you may know some of these monsters without even realizing it.…

Humans should offer helps for those in needs, because we are one species, so biologically, we are a family, and family members help each others. Wiesel was unable to understand the reason behind the return of the St. Louis ship, which almost shipped thousands of Jews to America but later deported back to Germany (The History Place - Great Speeches Collection: Elie Wiesel Speech The Perils of Indifference). This situation is very similar to the Syrian refugees. They are escaping from the violence mass killings and bombings in the Middle East, just like how Jews were escaped from the concentrations camp in Germany. Since we had offered copious helps to many countries, in the past history, why don’t we do it again this time?…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

Annie a 27 year old woman with a family had surgery and they found cancer. Her husband decided not to tell her and her doctor went along with that decision. She died a few months later not knowing she had cancer. My personal code of ethics would not allow this doctor to go along with the husband’s decision to not tell his wife the truth. The reason behind my thoughts on needing to tell the mother of two children is she could try surgery, chemotherapy or radiation therapy any medical treatments to extend her life to spend time with her children before she passes away.…

It was a Tuesday afternoon and the heat in Mr. Martin's room felt as if we were next to the sun. The schools maintenance crew always kept the furnace on the highest setting possible. “So class what did we talk about yesterday ?” said Mr. Martin as he takes out the 590 page textbook on accounting and finance. “We talked about how to find assets, liabilities and owner's equity,” says Ms. Know” it all in the front of the classroom.” As Mr. Martin begins his lesson, I quietly whisper to my best friend Jake, “Hey man, did you do the homework from last night?”…

The sun suddenly appeared in the sky. My fingers were numb, and every single bone in my body was shaking, even though I had six blankets on. I was sitting on a cliff, and if I moved any more than a foot I would plummet to my death. That’s right, I risked death to see the most “exhilarating sunrise of my life”, which is what everyone with me said. They also said the clouds would go away.…
