You might not know what to expect and wonder if the older kids will like you, well keep reading if you want to know how to be successful and stay steady throughout the school year. Now if you ask me, Junior-High isn’t anything different from elementary, sure you have a vast amount of homework, but, you’ll fly right through the year if you do the proper steps to succeed, and it becomes easy once you get the flow of it. Being organized means to have all your papers, work etc. in an orderly fashion so you can find them later on if you have a test or a quiz and also try not to get food stains on them because I’m pretty sure no teacher wants to grade your paper with food stains all over it. This was said earlier but, it has to be running through your brain every second of the school year, do your homework and don’t wait until the last second to do it and put it away in your backpack so you're prepared to turn the assignment on its due date. Also when you're doing your work at home and you have siblings, make sure you do it away from them or don’t leave it out in the open because chances are that they’ll drop something on it, pour something on it, draw and scribble on it or even put it their mouth, so keep it away from them. When you have work to do on paper or anything that needs to be signed, it is very important to not lose the paper, if you don’t want to get emails sent home about missing assignments or other things on paper then don’t misplace it. Now if you have a specific set of supplies for each class be sure to bring them always and don’t forget them, because you’ll sit there the whole class period doing nothing and forgetting your supplies earns you a detention and then lastly charge your …show more content…
So if you have an older brother or sister in junior high and their social and are well known, chances are that you’ll fit right in in Junior High and it’s all thanks to having an older sibling, see even if you dislike them they enabled you to be also well known in Junior High. For others who don’t have the advantage of having older siblings you have to go beyond your comfort zone and be interactive with other people you don’t know and by that you just have to say a small word “hello” to someone because if you don’t socialize you won’t make friends, so just be friendly. This next one is common for people in Junior High and starts around this age and it’s called drama, now try to avoid drama (not the production) or issues and don’t start it and especially don’t jump into it even if it’s your best friend because you’ll just make it worse if you add onto it, instead try to resolve the situation and try to make things peaceful so everyone survives. You are always going to have a test or quiz about every two weeks in Junior High and let's say you fail a test or quiz and you’re vexed because you messed up well don’t be, it’s not the end of the world, you are bound to make mistakes in Junior High it’s human nature, we’re not perfect and so you can learn from your mistakes and it makes you better and you can always try next time. In the midst of heavy racial tension among college campuses across the country, Cal Poly Pomona has stood out above the rest by being culturally sensitive and encouraging students to take initiative and learn about other customs and ethnicities outside of their own. Over the course of the last academic session for students, whether quarter or semester there have been reported protests regarding racial injustice on at least five college campuses across the country. There have been zero protests at Cal Poly and according to President Coley it is because of it’s “long standing inclusive values and diverse campus.” She does not believe the campus has to handle damage control like other universities to recent events because it is in Cal Poly’s DNA starting with faculty and staff to be culturally aware and sensitive.…
