Personal Narrative: Independence Day Of My Life

In the “Bull City”, it was Independence Day in the United States of America. My best friend and I, as usual planned to go to Downtown Raleigh for fellowship and fireworks. As always, I am not permitted to do anything until all my chores have been done. I earnestly completed my household duties, grabbed my belongings, and went on my way to pick up my best and headed to Raleigh, NC. While on our way, I thought to myself what a great night it was going to be. My best friend’s name is Me’Cha. We were born exactly three months a part. We became friends at the age of five in elementary school, and have been joined at the hip ever since. Growing up, we always planned to attend the same college or university, but God had his own plans for each of …show more content…
This year, we wanted new experiences and freedom from our parents, so Downtown Raleigh was the move. It was only about a 30 minute drive from home. While we were riding through the city, we played loud music and took in the great winds from outdoors. Downtown, we danced, ate colored food, and socialize. There were also fireworks. It was getting pretty chilly out, and we were starting to get bored. It was almost 2 o’clock in the morning and our curfew was quickly approaching. We walked to my car and said our goodbyes to the classmates who also came out to view the fireworks. I spent the night at Me’Cha’s house because her home was the nearest from Downtown Raleigh. While on our way home, we got the chance to view families still popping fireworks outside of their homes. We pulled into the rocky driveway of my best friend’s residence, and next, we headed to the bedroom where we stayed up all night having what it seemed to be like, endless conversations about boyfriends, our friendship, and the separation we would soon have to deal with when the month of

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

Ansley Haskard Coach Allen Comp III 19 January 2018 My Declaration of Independence There comes a time in every person’s life when one can no longer rely upon their parents for transportation. Monday, August 22nd, 2016, approximately 10 o’clock PM. I arrived home after a typical summer night out with my friends at the local Applebee’s, however I was greeted at the door by my already enraged father. Before I had time to take my shoes off of my feet, my father was already ridiculing me, spouting phrases such as “you’re so irresponsible” and “you cannot be trusted with anything.” Now of course there was some foul language included sporadically in those remarks, but overall I was shocked at why I was being attacked seemingly unprovoked. My father then decided to inform me that tomorrow at 8 AM I had to report to the soccer fields at Holy Ghost Preparatory School for soccer tryouts.…

Not a Day Sooner In every encounter, people who cross our path leave a part of themselves with us. Their words, wisdom, or humour is a gift of God. I find that the Holy Spirit will call to remembrance some of these unusual moments to illustrate a truth or impress a teaching upon the heart of another, and all we are doing is telling a story. Jesus was a master real-life storyteller, and that is why His teachings impact us in life today.…
