Personal Narrative: If I Were A Snake

If It Were a Snake, It Would’ve Bit Me! I’ve always been a responsible person. Throughout high school and middle school, I’ve lost practically nothing of significance. Most teenagers my age misplace things all the time; their precious little keys, worshiped phones, beloved technology, and other supplies are nowhere to be found. I thought I was the perfect teenager, always turning in and completing work on time and protecting all of my valuables. I’m beginning to think that my prosperity has changed, however. I lost my wallet recently, and I feel like things are going to go down-hill from now on. It all commenced on a Thursday. Tensions were immense as she called the card company to dispatch a lost card. It didn’t even take five minutes! I didn’t think that it was a big deal at all. She did, of course. The following five minutes really put the icing on the cake. After searching everywhere, asking the office for announcements, worrying my teachers, friends, and mother, I finally unearthed my wallet. It was taxing and shocking for the naked eye to see, lying there on the bathroom tile. The tile itself was black, which made the wallet blend in like camouflage. If it were a snake, it would’ve bit me! All of the stress and resentment of that day instantly dissipated from my shoulders. I pranced into the dining room and bashed the leather wallet onto the table and smiled. I had no idea how the wallet got into the bathroom, but I identified it and that’s all that mattered! I went on an adventure of a lifetime looking for that wallet, so I plan on not losing it any time soon! The embarrassment was almost too much to handle. I have so much on my mind, and things can get misplaced so easily. Mother and I made amends after her firestorm, but she still has to get a new card. I hope my luck with responsibility hasn't changed, but only time will tell. I know that next time I lose anything, I’ll first search the places right under my
