Personal Narrative: If I Had To Switch Place In Education

If my college professors and I were to switch places, things would be a whole a lot different. Most of the things I would change would mostly be the way the professor taught the class. Something things would be the same, like the things they teach. Teaching changes the further you go in your education. The higher grade you go, the harder your work and the stricter your teachers become. I am going to use my college algebra teacher, Mr. Jones as my example for a teacher. Mr. Jones is college mathematics teacher, and he is probably the most old fashion person in the school. My number one pet peeve when it comes to him is when he acts like were not paying him. When he will not let me use my cellphone. When he expect me to act like, work like, and pay like an adult, but will not treat me like one. I understand it is their classroom, put I paid to be in it, and there is no refund in college. I understand that cellphones can distract other people, but there is simple solution to this problem. The teacher could reserve the back to the class for people who use their cellphones. I should be able to look at my messages without having to fear being kicked out of the class. If I was teaching Mr. Joneses class, I start every semester by tell my students …show more content…
Jones like to give us random pop quizzes from time to time to make sure we are paying attention. This is something I would use if I were to be teaching his class because it really helps me understand what exactly we are doing. I would keep his grade-to-grade seating chart. This seating chart matches students with lower grades and students with higher grades and sits them together. This helps when the people with lower grades need immediate help or do not really understand what is going on in class. The seating chart also lowers talking in class because if you are sitting next to someone with a high grade, they will most likely be paying attention to the lesson instead talking to

It seems like a decade ago that we began our time with Mr. McGee in Room 303. As we first took our spots next to our peers and friends, we were all filled with a sense of apprehension about what was to come. We had all heard the horror stories about the hours and hours of homework required to earn a passing grade in this class. Our teacher was hailed a legend in our small rural high school and he was well liked and respected. He also had a reputation for being incredibly smart and pushing his students beyond what they had previously known.…

My first year of high school was winding down, teachers had covered all learning material, and most students were preparing for finals. June had just begun, and along with studying, I had an upcoming saxophone recital for which I had been preparing since April. The Tuesday before my recital, I had my second to last lesson with my teacher, Fred Scerbo, before the recital on Sunday. I was preparing a piece by Charlie Parker named "Anthropology". Despite its difficulty, I felt that I would be able to perform it well.…

I have worked with Jumpstart for a year now, and I understand the need that many of the kids have before they enter kindergarten. The first five years of a child are real important for his or her development as a student, and having already served as a Corp Member would make my job easier the following year. I am also an older sister, and understand that many times parents might feel lost or even frustrated about the education of their kids. Having experienced this with my own brother, and helping other kids to have a better change in education are features that make me a good fit to serve in a preschool classroom.…

Both my earth science teacher and my history teacher have a particular way teach, a way that no every teacher is using. They both tried to focus on the smart ones or in those who are actually trying to learn in the class to make those who didn’t care about the class fight for their grade. Considering they were both pretty tough grader, they didn’t give a chance to those who were paying attention. Although they were both exceptional with their students, I remember that both always bring treats on Fridays, so if a student answer a question right in class, the student would it get a full donut and they answer wrong they would get half a donut. In addition to this my earth science teacher always try to make his classroom to feel like a party on Mondays so he always tried to make us feel like we 're at home, he even would let you to listen music in his class, although you could only do it with one earplug the other ear was always free so could hear what he was talking about.…

I observed another U.S. History teacher on my campus teaching a lesson on the Constitution, the lesson was called the Articles of the Constitution round robin. This lesson was targeted to eighth grade students so they could become experts on different Articles within the Constitution in order to teach them to fellow classmates. The objectives associated with the lesson are examining primary sources, explaining how our government works and knowing the different parts of our government system. The goal is for our students to be able to perform the objectives listed above. The lesson lasted for two days and was followed by a game that assessed what they had learned.…

When I was in high school, during my junior year there was an opportunity to change to a vocational school. This opportunity to enhance your education and give you a bigger edge over your classmates who would stay back at their homeschool. There was a big controversy about this place though back at the high schools, that this place was just where high schools send their terrible students and their low end students. That this was a last stop school for students, “if your there then you’re not going to get employed anywhere but McDonalds”.…
