The Fates? I wasn’t shocked by his knowledge of Greek mythology. Dissenters loved learning about everything from their Old World. I say that because the Old World wasn’t really dead. Only to them. What shocked me most was his use of that knowledge. He was talking in code. I was to meet the Fates? Was that a review board determining my termination? Was it Ian Typhus? Or someone else? Something was so important, he had to conceal it in code with Old World terminology. And he wasn’t about to reveal it to me. I had to be patient, but patience was not a feature I excelled in, even with my enhanced genes.
