As a proud student of Manual Academy I try to show the potential in each of the things I do in order to not only make myself proud but to also represent my school proudly. I try to represent Manual in the best way I can by having good grades, joining extra-curricular activities and most importantly by showing leadership.
I believe this scholarship should be awarded to me because I consider myself to be a person of good character and never gives up on reaching her goals, which has made me the student I am today. I couldn't ask them for help like other kids could ask their parents because my parents didn't understand it. Despite of my parents not being able to help me, they gave me support and encouragement to continue studying. For many people not knowing the language would have been their excuse, but I for me it was a reason to continue and not stay in the same place for the rest of my life and become someone that will be remembered by others. I take my education seriously because I know I am fortunate compared to other countries that have a poor school system. My parents always tell me to value every opportunity that is given to me because they don’t want me to struggle like they have. This scholarship will help me get closer to my goal of becoming a doctor. I want to one day be able to give back to my community especially to students who want to continue their education, but can’t because they don’t have money or the support and also be able to provide for my parents just like they did for me. Getting this scholarship will highly assist me in achieving my long term goal in becoming an OBY-GN. The career I want to pursue is in science. My mom was able to bring my brother to this world with the help of an obstetric gynecologist. The ability of them being able to help two lives at the same time was something I considered amazing. When my brother was born everyone was happy, but at the same worried for the critical condition he was in, since he was born premature. With the instructions that was given by the obstetric gynecologist my brother was able to make it from being premature. Even though my mother ended having diabetes and also high blood pressure after giving birth thanks to the medication she was given she has been able to control it. I decided to do some research on the requirements that were needed to become an obstetric gynecologist and I found out that science was a major part of the requirement. I knew that I was good in science, so I decided that I wanted to one day be an obstetric gynecologist. Since then science has interested me because it is one of many ways to help others. In all of the available science fields that were out there biology was one that interested me the most. I believe that biology is the best subject because it is the study of life. Science is a path that never has an ending
