Personal Narrative: I Remember My Father

I remember panic after I took the pills. I remember calling the ambulance. I remember the looks from neighbors when firetrucks and police cars arrived. I remember my dad crying when he tried to climb in the ambulance with me. I remember my mother lying to my siblings about why I was going to the hospital. I remember being forced into a small room, and blood being taken. I remember spilling my diseased thoughts to doctors and to my parents who had no idea. I remember being locked in a hospital to do therapy with strangers for three days. I remember wishing I had not called the ambulance.
I also remember how huge my mother’s smile was when she came to visit me. I remember my dad’s relief. I remember being allowed to leave the hospital. I remember
