Personal Narrative: I Live Alone In A Rickety Cabin

Decent Essays
Long ago, in a far away land, there lived a man. This man lived alone in a rickety cabin. The floorboards creaked with every step, and the walls were bare and undecorated. The man never bothered to decorate or clean his cabin, so it smelt like old eggs and mildew. This man never paid his bills, and he never bothered to take a shower because there was no water. He only survived off of cereal and canned food, because they never expire and he can’t cook anything, for there is no gas. His shack only has two bedrooms and an attic, the bedrooms are the same size. He spends most of his time looking at old yearbooks and photos of his childhood. The only source of light was a dimmed lamp in the center of the living room. He could not afford any new

While this man is no stranger to the wilderness, he greatly underestimates the temperature believing it is no more than fifty degrees below zero, when it is actually seventy-five degrees below zero. Throughout the beginning of the story, the man encounters no danger and even builds himself a fire to eat lunch next to. It is after this quick break that things take a turn for the worst after the man falls through the ice, completely soaking his feet and legs. Personal response:The book Solitary was a great book. The book had a lot of really descriptive words to described what happened in the story. I liked how the story described how Alex and his two friends, Zee and Simon, kill the Wheezer. It used so many descriptive words in that scene it almost seemed real. I really wondered what was going happen to them next.…

I walked through blurring snow and glistening flakes that were swirling around me up the hill to the old barn door in order to find shelter in the blizzard. I pushed open the door just enough to get through and entered the barn. There were fresh hay bales all over and I sat down on one and looked around examining my surroundings. I did a quick scan and nothing caught my attention at first, however, I scanned again and I saw what appeared to be an old antique chest in the far left corner of the barn. I walked over to it and saw what appeared to be a old lock on it that was hanging open.…

The crisp breeze rustled my hair as I walked out of my house on the fall September day with my dad drilling instructions into my head. It was my first Little League baseball game ever, and my dad wanted to make sure it wasn’t my last. Being seven years old and never touching a baseball was something that had scared me; a lot. I had no idea what to think about this foreign, petrifying, game could possibly be about. The car ride from my house was only a few minutes away from the fields where I would begin my baseball career.…

There’s a little slice of Heaven in Marshall, Texas, where the sun shines through the pines and the sound of cicadas serenade you throughout your afternoon and the lake shines like a plate of polished silver in the early morning sun. When I first came to Camp Fern, I was on my own. Everyone else had known each other for at least two years, so I was the odd one out. In my cabin there was the usual sort. There was the popular one, the attention seeker, the joker, and the one you love to hate.…

“You can start whenever you’re ready” The boy looked down at his pale, shaking hands, then up at the ceiling. Anywhere except for the man with the clipboard in front of him. They had told him that if he came here, they would leave him alone. He took that to mean no more blinding lights being shown in his face, no more fake smiles, no more lies. “My mom made me some sandwiches.…

My family immigrated to Los Angeles as refugees to escape the Iran-Iraq war, relying on welfare and loans for a better life, but only ending up in bankruptcy. Our home was filled with emotional tension and aggressive exchanges, making it difficult to address the family’s mental health issues brought on by past traumas. The most extreme of which was my sister’s untreated schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Although the youngest, I provided her care throughout my time in high school and college; she required 24-hour care during manic episodes that involved hiding medication in her food and guarding her door to prevent her from running out of the house. My emotional stability and drive to persevere during this period came from an unlikely place:…

Bondage Cabin So a few years ago my friend Tonya ask me what I be interested in a makeup job that would require my travel. As I mentioned before Tonya and I are no stranger to the BDSM world. And the destination of this makeup job that would require my travel would be located in a cabin in the woods, where a group of Trans/Cross Dressing individuals would be holding a Bondage weekend. My friend Tonya was a bit nervous about going to the cabin alone (without Val her mate) and not really knowing everyone at the cabin. I was a little nervous for her.…
