I is for Ice cream
I'm always trying to eat ice cream or Popsicles even when it's winter. I enjoy the flavor of Popsicles, how colorful they are, and what they feel like. I really enjoy the ice creams or Popsicles that are really hot and make your mouth feel cold one second and then make your mouth feel like it's burning right afterwards. Im always getting in trouble for eating frozen things in the summer or when it's winter but my parents can never stop me cause I'm always eating things without my parents even realizing that it's gone then they figure out I ate something probably because my littlest brother told on me but it'll be days to late. Whenever my mom goes go Braums, I tell her what I what and she says "I won't buy you anything

It was just after the Christmas of 2009, when my friend’s father, Jeff, gave my father a call from about 200 miles north. He had called to ask if we wanted to join them at their holiday vacation rental up in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Of course, my father said yes. I was excited to go as well, because I knew my best friends, Jesse and Hannah, would be there, too. The night we arrived, Jeff suggested we enjoy some milkshakes in the city.…

As I pulled into the park on a Friday evening, the sun glistened off of the metal handlebars lining the top of the skateboard area. Parents pulled into the parking lot with barely enough time to shift into park when their children eagerly thrust the door open and sprint towards the wooden entrance. The ground teetered as I walked in with young children not even reaching my waist rush in to claim their rightful throne on the swings. One child peeks their head from the top of the slide, exclaiming “Hello” and “Holla” to anyone who might hear him from such a massive heights. She still has Braum’s chocolate ice cream smeared on her face that could be mistaken for dirt.…

The Arrival I had originally planned to travel to Rio on September 5th through September 12th. A perspicacious and experienced hunter named Rainsford accompanied me. It was nighttime when I first spotted land of any sort. It was vaguely visible and was opaque, so misty that even Rainsford couldn’t see it. Utterly tired, I began drifting off, dreaming of the adventures we were soon to face.…

When I think about the boy who I was growing up, the young adult I am today, and the man I plan to be in the forthcoming years, one aspect of my life stands out to me far more radiantly than anything else: my culture, my skin, my identity as a Bangladeshi-American. There aren't many clubs or organization for Bangladeshi Americans such as myself. Make no mistake, there are certainly events for Bangladeshis living in the United states, many that I have attended due to various entreaties from my parents. These are event where the only language spoken is one that I barely speak (Bengali), the only music conversed about is that which I don't listen to or understand, and the only events discussed happen in another country that I have spent only a…

Growing up, my parents were never really around because they were always at work. I was raised by my grandma, and was never taught the importance of healthy eating. In elementary and middle school, I ate a great deal of unhealthy Italian food because my grandparents owned a restaurant, and when I didn’t have food from the restaurant, I would love to eat microwavable corn dogs (I would eat like 4 in one sitting). Even though I ate a lot of junk, I was very active. I played almost every team sport, and loved it.…
