Personal Narrative-I Grow Up In High School

Decent Essays
I grew up in a small town in Pakistan, with absolutely no modern technologies. Like the kids today, we didn’t carry tiny computers around in our pockets. Since we had no phones and computers to kill boredom, my friends and I, used to go out everyday to play. I spent almost half of my childhood playing different games outside, in the park. Those games were the root of my exercise back then. Running and jumping every day, kept me fresh and healthy. When I turned 10, I started going to a private dance class. I also took dance classes in high school. Dance is something I enjoy the most. It is a great form of exercise that provides us with both aerobic and anaerobic movements. For me, it is a cardio workout that keeps the body flexible and strong.

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

My favorite activity is playing soccer. To play soccer, you use your legs to run, your feet to pass or shoot, your chest to trap, your head to head the ball, and finally your arms for blocking a shot in goal or throwing throw-ins. As you can see, soccer takes advantage of your whole body and puts it to use. Running is a huge factor in soccer, you need to outrun your opponent.…
