I was on the team during the last two years of middle school and was very confident my style of play would earn me a spot on the team. During JV tryouts, we did basic drills to start things off. 3 on 3, running suicides, jump rope, shooting drills, passing drills, etc. I’m not going to sit here and say I was flawless, but I thought I did very well and so did all of my friends and teammates. These tryouts went on for about 3 more days, and at the end of the final tryout, the coach posted the list of who made the team. As we all went over to check the piece of paper, my friends seemed not very excited that they made the team because from going to all the summer league games and practices, you’re basically guaranteed a spot.
