Personal Narrative: I Built My Egg Drop

Decent Essays
I built an egg drop. I made it out of pop sicell sticks. I also used some rubber bands. I also used a parachutts. I had small sticks and big sticks. I had a great time building this.

When I built my egg drop I had it planned out before I built it. I crossed 4 sticks. Then I put 4 sticks going up. Then I doubled up 2 rubber bands and put cross wise. Then I got to big sticks and glued them in a cross. Then I drilled holes in them. Then in the holes I put the yarn in the holes and attached it to my parachutt.

I dropt mine first, mines didn’t crack. I was so happy it didn’t crack. I was super nervous. I think mine did good. I let it go and it just floated down. I think some peoples needed improvement. I think mine could use a little work too.

The purpose of “Dancing Raisins” is to demonstrate how carbon dioxide bubbels cause a change in an object’s density and buoyancy.…

Rube Goldberg and Beyond The objective of this essay is to ask a question that you would like to answer as part of the scholarship application. My question is “What is an example of a creative approach you took to accomplish a project you were assigned?” As a high school physics student in my junior year, I was placed on a team and tasked with building a Rube Goldberg machine that could move an object 20 feet. I started the process by watching several YouTube videos that demonstrated the basics of a Rube Goldberg machine (i.e., balls rolling, random ramps, many moving parts, etc.)…

In the Egg Drop competition, we chose a small box filled with cotton and cotton cloth. We chose this design because we predicted that it would be light and very durable during the egg drop. We also thought that the design would be very safe since it was a small object with very soft cloth and cotton to keep the egg from breaking. This design also decreased the force applied to the egg because of the cotton surrounding the egg top and bottom and all around. While the cloth, kept the egg in place so, that it would not move all over the box and break.…

Introduction Egg cartons can be made from foam, plastic, or recycled paper; they are designed to keep eggs from breaking when they are transported from one place to another. Sadly, they do a very poor job of keeping eggs safe if a carton of eggs is accidently dropped. Nobody likes it when they buy a carton of eggs only to accidently drop it on the way home.
