I pledge allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. The American flag is a symbol. It symbolizes the thirteen colonies and the fifty states all as one. Not only that, but it also symbolizes the rights we fought for when we were still in the clutches of Britain. We have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to a speedy trial, and the right to bear arms. We have the ability to experience philanthropy, something that most people in other countries are not fortunate enough to have. It all began on July 4, 1776, when the Declaration of Independence was approved after America had been founded on the faith of our God, finalizing the statement that provided our natural rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I believe that it should be given and never taken. I believe that every breath we take, even for a second, should be a memory we keep for a lifetime. I believe it is how we go throughout our days, learning from the past, experiencing now during the present, and looking forward to the future. I believe that it is a precious gift, bestowed upon us by our creator that we should never take for granted because it is a treasure that will always remain a mystery to the human brain, no matter how much research is done.
