I came home checked the mail since I had been doing this for weeks now and I saw 5 letters. They were letters from school letting me know if I was accepted into Magnet/I.B. programs for high school. Keep in mind I only really cared about Campbell I.B. program. As I opened the first one I read to find out it was a rejection letter. First off I was sad for weeks. Secondly I it was the only thing I could think about. I kept asking myself questions of how I didn’t get in and altogether I was stressed. Then when I calmed down and thinked it over logically, I gave the school I never wanted to go a chance. I never wanted to attend South Cobb High School because I heard so many rumors about how bad it was and I was scared to go there. By putting all the rumors aside and giving this school a chance, it changed my life for the better. I have learned many lessons in this program both academically and in life. Also I met the best people who encourage and shaped my view for example I believe I am more open minded and analytical. My thinking has been opened by knowledge. Furthermore, I am a better person for going to this school instead going to my district zone school. I learned a lot from this experience. I learned that you do not always get what you want because it might not be what's best for you. I also learned that life is full of obstacles. Personally, it was facing rejection letters, but it was up to me as a person to take power from within and use my failures as a guide to succeed in the future. Knowing that the power is within and you can do anything you set your mind to are important lessons because as I go into college what I want now, may not be what is best for me and it might not occur for a good reason.
