The Lewis and Clark Expedition is most commonly known as the exploration that led to the westward expansion of the United States of America. William Clark is highly under-credited for his role as one of the two explorers on the trip with most of the credit given to Meriwether Lewis. William Clark is responsible for the making of maps along the journey, especially his master map of the West. Without the detailed maps that Clark created, there would have been a delay in westward expansion in an attempt to conquer the idea of manifest destiny. What is not talked about is Clark’s life both before and after the trip as he is just solely known for this particular expedition.…

The first of my struggles came from being born to two teenage parents without at least a high school education, and although my mother went on to get a GED and to college my father did not. Many people in my family had issues with substance abuse and addictions including my father. Although, I was raised by my mother and grandmother, my father’s actions and behaviors negatively impacted my life. My name seemingly means noble and strength, but looking at myself, I don’t understand where that is coming from. Saying that I have strength would be like saying the sun isn’t hot, simply untrue. Most people perceive me for being a fairly scrawny person with not entirely a lot of muscle. I went through this horrifying moment at my FBLA conference where our chapter participated in multiple team building activities at the national guard military base, meaning everyone would individually need to utilize their strength. When I climbed up one of the courses, I lost my grip and gradually started to slip.…
