Personal Narrative: I Am In The Woods

Decent Essays
I am from early mornings,
To late nights.
I am from the ice cold,
To the blazing hot sun.
I am from just one more
To keep it on frame.

I am from long, hard practices,
To power shots.
I am from just relax,
To pick up the pace.
I am from playing all day,
To dreaming all night.

In my closet back in the corner,
There is box after box
Stacked upon the other.
Each filled with memories,
Of great goals, runs, and assists.
I come from soccer and pure bliss

Throughout the course of my short seventeen years, I have grown and learned many things. I grew up in a small rural town called Elk Creek. There are no strangers in Elk Creek; people sleep with their doors unlocked and their windows open. Everyone who has grown up in a small town can agree that friendship and community become a second nature trait. Although I have copious amounts of love and respect for where I grew up; I believe that I do not belong there.…

There’s a little slice of Heaven in Marshall, Texas, where the sun shines through the pines and the sound of cicadas serenade you throughout your afternoon and the lake shines like a plate of polished silver in the early morning sun. When I first came to Camp Fern, I was on my own. Everyone else had known each other for at least two years, so I was the odd one out. In my cabin there was the usual sort. There was the popular one, the attention seeker, the joker, and the one you love to hate.…

The View was magnificent, the green grasses, the fresh air, and the sunshine shining on the landscapes and the trees swaying with wind. It was as if the world was reborn, the ashes were nowhere to be seen, and no fires nor smoke in the air or in sight. We stepped of the door platform and closed the door behind us so they would not ever know that we went outside the main bunker. It has been ten years since we have been outside in the real world, we have no real windows in the bunker they are all electronic. We are all sticking together like Indian's or a wolf pack, so that we can survive and share food together.…

If you were to plant two trees and feed them different things, you would receive two different outcomes. So, say that you plenish the first young tree with a great deal of fertilizer, and make sure that it gets a multitude of sunlight and water. Then you feed the second young tree with nothing and just let it grow on its own with no supplements. In the end, the first young tree would grow and prosper a lot better than the second tree that you hardly put any strain into. Therefore, one of the fuels to my success would be propelling myself to be the best I can be everyday in your Pre-AP chemistry class, so that I end up as the first tree.…

Soccer has always been my love, my passion, and my outlet. If I have a rough day, all I have to do is lace up my cleats and step onto the field and just like that, all my worries drift away. I would always play for myself and no one else, it was my game and I thought that no one could take that away from me. Every time I played soccer I felt free, until the day that everything changed.…

Looking around for food for the others in the pack, I spot a cabin out in the open. Howling for the hours others to come meet up with me and go to see if there's anything in that cabin we can eat. After howling for a while the others come looking all starved and weak “So what did you make us come out for,” said quietly by Matt “Well there's a cabin down there that we can check out to see if there’s anything there to eat”. “Okay then let's go check it out then” said by Luke…

    I. It was brilliant — the light, the air. The sun was just setting over the Appalachian mountains, and the remaining bits of desperate sunlight seeped through the forest trees. If you looked closely, you could begin to see the deep lights of the milky way fall on the harbor. Far off on the horizon large grey clouds emerged with a threatening tone. On any other night I would've sat in the rickety rocking chair on the patio and watched the dynamic sky come to life… but this night was different.…
