Personal Narrative: I Am Carlos Moran

As many of you know me, I am Carlos Moran. I am seventeen years old and I was born in Newark, New Jersey on February 22nd, 1999. A brief synopsis about my parents. My mom was born in the Dominican Republic and my father was born in Ecuador. Both have had jobs before they even turned 8 years old. My mom couldn’t come to US easily. She had to be in “love” with a US citizen for a couple of years to get married in order to enter the USA. My father was always in the streets either playing soccer or running errands for his mom. I do not know much information about the way he got into the United States, but when he came here, he was known for track. Just like me, he attended North 13th Street Tech. Enough about my parents, now let's focus on the real issue here. Me.
My mom’s pregnancy wasn’t all too pleasing. When my mom was going through labor with me, doctors discovered that my umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck eight times, which is why I was born through a C-section. Doctors said that if I continued to be in my mom’s stomach and be born the next day, I would not have survived. BUT...I am alive. So, enough of the sadness, and

Volleyball alone takes about four hours of my day, practically everyday. I go here and maintain myself on the Honor Roll, striving for Principal’s List. Although both volleyball and school take up about twelve hours of my day everyday, I have many chores that I do at home, according to my own beliefs. Some of the chores that I do, and i say some because I will talk about the chores later on, are cooking, cleaning, and laundry. But, I know many of the people in my classroom do this as well. (Ask class why). However, one thing different about me is that I do not believe in feminism. I know that many women love their boyfriends or even husbands very much, but I know deep down, you’d want him to do a bit more around the house, which is why I believe in making the life of a woman much
