I want you to take ten seconds to look away from the screen and stare at reality. If it doesn't freak you out at least a little, you probably didn't look at it the right way.
Hello everyone!
I decided to open this account because I am tired of not doing something I enjoy as much as writing. Simultaneously, I am just sick of not doing anything at all with all these ideas that want to drive me insane. Particularly because I am very insecure about every single thing I do. Also, I have been wanting to reinforce my writing skills, but I was afraid of never being good enough. Who was I even kidding? How was I ever going to get better at this if I had not dared myself to do this? Practice makes perfect after all, does it not?

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

Whether we know it or not in this modern society we are writers everyday of our lives. These interactions shape not only how we communicate but how we write as well. Personally, I have been shaped by the influence of both other writers I have known and those I have only read the creations of. Those same influences contributed to both my writing style in the classroom and to my identity as a writer. I spent a lot of my childhood with my nose deep in fiction novels at near by libraries.…

Over the first semester I feel I have been appropriately challenged in the area of writing we have done this year. I learned many new skills, but the most important one involves English and how to write properly. As for the first writing, I really did not understand what was right and what was wrong. Because I never paid close attention to specific rules in how to write. I truly believe it has been hard for me.…

Ever since my "young'un" days, I have wanted to do something creative with words. Chomping on my candy necklace, I wistfully proclaimed – “I want to make people think and feel, laugh and cry.” As an adult, I write short stories, novels, poems and articles. I have worked in the publishing industry in and around New York City – though not as a writer.…

A significant event in my life as a reader and a writer was when I attended an American elementary school in Miami, Florida. In July of 2005, my family of 6 moved to the United States and a month later I was enrolled in Rockway Elementary School. I recall the small, pink classroom and the chipped tables were joined in groups of four. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Paris was a 300 lbs, blonde, smelly, American lady which oddly spoke Spanish. Every morning we had to write a journal and the room would be super quiet and the only sound was the scribbling of pencils on paper.…

In the past, I like to believe that I have been an incredible writer. Writing has always been a hobby that I enjoy doing. In elementary school, my teacher had us write a short story, and she allowed us to print them off and bind them. I have also had one of my poems published into an actual book that was filled to the brim with poems. Ever since then, I have always wanted to have one of my own works published.…

Even though I signed up for a creative writing class and my first experience in the class was poetry, I am curious to see where the assignments will unfold. What a pleasant surprise to realize that my greatest wish to become a prolific writer is about to be realized. Besides, I like the quote “Please do not allow the spinning mind, with its inexhaustible genius for resistance, to keep you from writing the poems suggested in each chapter.” (v) I have been telling people that I did not choose my classes; rather, my classes chose me.…
