Personal Narrative: I Am A Humorous Person

Improved Essays
Most days all human beings come across many other human beings. When I am at school I talk to many and see many. These people are all different walks of life. Another example is, if someone were to walk to work in Chicago, that person would encounter perhaps hundreds, if not thousands of people. With that being said many people come across many different people everyday. With all of these different people we encounter, one may never know there backstory or what all these people have going on personally. The person may be upset or having a bad day. The person may be struggle with the thought of someone or something that is bringing them down. There is many motives for how someone is feeling. This leads me to some of the best advice I have ever …show more content…
So when I see someone I try to figure out what mood they are in and for what reason they are in that particular mood. The other day I was having a particular average day, and I was with my brother, Jeremy, who had some rather exciting news. This news was that Jeremy and his wife were pregnant with their second child. I could feel how happy he was. Of course, I was extremely happy as well because I will be blessed with another niece or nephew. Although, what I am getting at is that his smile and excitement was contagious and turned my average day into a very great day! Now, I am not just rambling on about an example, there is a point to this. The point is that I myself try to be nice and show happiness to everyone else. For one main reason, we as people may not know what someone has going on in their life at that time. For example, I know a older lady in town who just recently lost her husband. He had been suffering from alzheimer's for many years now and unexpectedly passed. I had seen her at the grocery store a few weeks after her husband's passing, and as expected she was rather lonely and sad. As I was walking by her I had said hello, gave her a smile, and told her to have a great day. Just with that small simple gesture, I seen her smile and immediately perk up a little. That is just one example as to why I took the advice of being nice and polite to everyone I see. No matter if I know someone is struggling with something or not, it

I usually find satisfaction when an example of comedic wit comes to light. The art of sarcasm, and the structure of satire have never ceased to amuse me. Although, when this specific brand of “humor” comes about, I sit back not to marvel at the thought or eloquence of the speech, but to restrain my own deeply rooted antipathy. When these graceless, crude masses shove their way into conversation, I watch in disdain as they merely beg for the attention of their audience. My muscles tense and cringe while my fingers curl reflecting my desire to retreat from an area so comically contaminated.…

Once I started down the road as a storyteller, I knew it must be my calling to teach the fundamentals of this dynamic craft to the next generation. I started my road as a storyteller while living in Elgin for eight-years. In fact, I live about 5 miles from Judson University and thought that I would enjoy teaching there. Now, I hope to shine at one of the Universities had wanted to teaching once I earned my MFA at Savannah College of Art and Design. I will teach students that storytellers don’t sit behind a computer or stand behind a camera, but must understand the responsibility and power of a film to change lives.…

What I learned about myself is that I have potential for being a global manager. Looking over the questions, I tend to lack in my experiences more than my actual skills. What I’ve learned is that I can adapt quick and connect with people easily, but I don’t have many experiences in it. To widen my range of experiences I would most likely have to travel more and emerge myself directly into new cultures. I would also have to study different languages a bit more for that is an area I very much lack in.…
