Today, my youngest brother, my nephew and I volunteered at an event coordinated by United for Puerto Rico, in Arlington, Virginia. As we arrived at the location, we were greeted by the sight of a large Puerto Rican flag, a large crowd of volunteers and the blaring sound of Salsa music. We handed our donated items, signed in and received instructions. My brother and my nephew helped with loading boxes onto trucks and I helped with packing and labeling boxes. The event was well-planned and organized. It was a friendly atmosphere full of energy and camaraderie.
