Personal Narrative-Humorous Wedding Day

I slowly sat up and looked at the time on my alarm clock.

1:08PM

Only a few more hours until the wedding and I'm pretty sure there are some last minute preparations that need to be made.

I got up from my bed and tip toed my way to my dad and Kate's room. The house seemed too quiet and so I was suspicious that everyone was sleeping.

I cracked open the door and peaked, making sure not to make any sudden noises.

I saw Kate and my dad sleeping soundly which made me think twice.

Ummm why are they sleeping when THEIR wedding is a few hours away?

I opened up the door fully and took it upon myself to wake them up.

They probably forgot so it's only fair that I wake them up to remind them..

My dad was snoring and I had to cover my mouth so I

Kate got up quickly and pulled on a sweatshirt and started flipping through the pages of her planner.

"I gotta go get ready," my dad said, putting on a wrinkled shirt.

"And I have to go pick up the cake and get my hair done! Not to mention I have a ton of other stuff to do!"

Either way, I didn't want time to go by fast, that meant they'll get married faster and I wasn't looking forward to my father being married to someone who wasn't nice whatsoever.

Kate's father, the king, proudly walked Kate down the aisle and people were smiling from ear to ear. I will admit, Kate looked beautiful up there and would make the perfect queen in the

Just recently, by air mail, I received an invitation to a wedding that will take place in England on April 18th. It happens to be a wedding I’d give a lot to be able to get to, and when the invitation first arrived, I thought it might just be possible for me to make the trip abroad, by plane, expenses be hanged. However, I’ve since discussed the matter rather extensively with my wife, a breathtakingly levelheaded girl, and we’ve decided against it—for one thing, I’d completely forgotten that my mother-in-law is looking forward to spending the last two weeks in April with us. I really don’t get to see Mother Grencher terribly often, and she’s not getting any younger.…

White long white fabric passed by my very eyes as I took it all in, this was a trail. A trail for a beautiful bride who was going to marry the love of her life in a few moments. Cameras flashed, people smiled, cried, whispered to one another how beautiful she looked but I couldn’t feel that. Yes, don’t get me wrong she looked exquisite but I could not feel the same sort of emotions everyone around me was.…

The sun beats down on our foreheads, sparkling with the sweat that only happens at the peak of the day, in the peak of the summer, in an unshaded, unmowed, front lawn of a pseudo-rural Oklahoman housing edition. We drove thirty minutes out of town to get there, and parked up against a barbed wire fence surrounding a dusty acre of land inhabited by two horses. This parking arrangement immediately made me question my choice of a delicate floral sundress and strappy sandals, which I previously had assumed would be more than appropriate for an outdoor wedding in June. I didn’t know much about the bride, only that she was my best friend’s sister, that she had the same name as me, and that this was her third wedding, so she decided to have it in her front yard for the sake of convenience. The venue twinkled with recycled clear Christmas lights and…

Have you ever been in a situation where you had stood there trying to explain to your parents why you had failed a test that you were well prepared for, I suppose you look around the room as if you could escape the question overall because you simply can’t find a justified response. It happens to everyone at times which is normal but for me I’ve always had bad luck, it followed me wherever I went, from one hometown to the other. It would make sense to say no change ever brought a change in luck. Every year, I would only look forward to my next birthday. When that day finally arrived this year I was nothing but hopeful.…
