Personal Narrative-Humorous Incidents

On December 27th, 2007, me and a friend of mine were between 8-9 years old just 2 days after Christmas. We were excited to meet up and show off anything new we were blessed with 2 days prior to the incident. We were at his house playing with WWE action figures until he pulled out a pack of sparklers. This is when the real fun began and one by one we lit up a sparkler, poking holes in stuffed animals and having the irresponsible fun of playing with fire and fireworks. Back as a 9 year old, I thought we had it under control, nothing to be worried about because we knew how to use sparklers.

We heard a noise outside, a friend of ours and his mother pulling in the driveway to pick us up. In a rush, My friend blew out what would be the last sparkler

I was the closest one to the door so I answered it, it was someone we knew, asking for my friend. I explained he was not with me and I was not prepared for what she was going to say next. She tells me, so careless, plainly and casual, "well if you see him, tell him his house burnt down.". This absolutely shocked me, after the girl left, my mom and I drove by the house and indeed saw fire trucks finishing it off, nothing surviving the flames except a guitar, a skateboard, and thanks to a brave neighbor, the dog. I could not call his house phone, his house was charred, I did not know how to let my friend know. By the time I had talked to him, his whole family knew and it was a crazy thought to me, we actually burned his house down.

Afterword, everything was fine, they moved to the street behind them, and we definitely learned our lesson, after losing a whole house and all the valuables inside of it, my friend and I were definitely not quick at all to play with fire. We didn't ever really talk about it too much afterword we just forgot about it and it blew over. It was a lesson learned and we learned to be more responsible and more thoughtful towards our actions and from there on we never did anything like that

I usually find satisfaction when an example of comedic wit comes to light. The art of sarcasm, and the structure of satire have never ceased to amuse me. Although, when this specific brand of “humor” comes about, I sit back not to marvel at the thought or eloquence of the speech, but to restrain my own deeply rooted antipathy. When these graceless, crude masses shove their way into conversation, I watch in disdain as they merely beg for the attention of their audience. My muscles tense and cringe while my fingers curl reflecting my desire to retreat from an area so comically contaminated.…

In a typical home sits a family with no other intentions than any other house on any other street. Inside contains two parents, two children and two pets all living in regular rooms. In between the dining room and living room are three white and blue bowls with little black dog prints around it, that sit on a hardwood floor. The first two bowls belong to my other dog and for water but lastly the third bowl with a small chip in it, belonged to a dog named Sammy, named after the great Sammy Sosa who played for the Chicago Cubs. He was shaped like a small wide oval.…

At the words, the music resounding in the ballroom decelerated in energy until it came to a complete halt; the ball-goers, dressed in vivid shades of purple and blue, were forced to stay rooted in their current positions. An unexpected giggle left my lips at the sight of a few comical poses. Though, the other poses fell short to the one that the herald flaunted; at the brink of yawning, his expression was that of an unintended scowl, with one eye at the verge of blinking and the other wide open; add on to the fact that his face was flushed as that of a ripe tomato.…

Just recently, by air mail, I received an invitation to a wedding that will take place in England on April 18th. It happens to be a wedding I’d give a lot to be able to get to, and when the invitation first arrived, I thought it might just be possible for me to make the trip abroad, by plane, expenses be hanged. However, I’ve since discussed the matter rather extensively with my wife, a breathtakingly levelheaded girl, and we’ve decided against it—for one thing, I’d completely forgotten that my mother-in-law is looking forward to spending the last two weeks in April with us. I really don’t get to see Mother Grencher terribly often, and she’s not getting any younger.…

Yes, don’t get me wrong she looked exquisite but I could not feel the same sort of emotions everyone around me was.…
