Whatever remains of that round of tag is pitiful. “It was great!” I said trying to hide the fact I was in excruciating pain.
We drove home and enjoyed the rest of the night. But when I woke up, I felt kind of woozy. I slowly walk down the stairs, and when I look down, I scream in horror. My knee was swollen so much to the point that it was the size of a watermelon of all things. Everyone but me is just sitting in the living room, enjoying the morning sun, but then I come down in shock and ruin the vibe. I immediately tell my Mom and she has the exact same reaction I did.

We’re on the highway and I just watch the granite formations on the side come and go. I thought that it would never be over. After an hour of driving since my Dad works at the South Shore, we arrived at the hospital. Dad brought me into the hospital check-in where the kind secretary smiles at us. After Dad checked me into the hospital, he takes me down a hallway. It was a pretty long one, but about halfway through the stretch, we turned right and opened a door that was dark and had lots of computer screens and one large table.
“Ok, put this fabric on where it hurts,” Dad says. “Don’t move, I need to scan it.”
We’re waiting in the silent dark room for about 30 minutes, when suddenly something pops up on the screen with my bones in a bright white with this gross yellow plague in the picture. That was Lyme Disease. I’m already surprised because I can just tell that it doesn’t seem to be normal. Dad takes a close look and prints the picture looks shocked and takes me right across the hall to a regular hospital room.
“Ok Oliver, you need to wait here a sec.” Dad said. “The disease is causing the bone tissue to diminish, we need to ‘tap’ it to exterminate
