The world has been slowly deteriorating by human activities, but nothing compares to what the Foreigners have done. It all started on September 15, 2014 at 7pm. The first attack was not noticed immediately since temperatures in Alaska during Winter has been dangerously low before, but when Florida becomes -40 degrees, questions arise. Then on October 15, 2014 at 7pm, all technology and mobile vehicle stopped working. Scientist couldn't figure out what was happening. People made rumors about aliens attacking the human race to make Earth theirs. Back then that seemed like the best theory. It became more serious when a mysterious flu became spreading. About 2.3 billion people died from the flu but adding to the harsh weather, just about 3

Here I was lost at night, alone and I was still sane. After the mysterious flu that killed many including my father and Liam, I didn't get frightened much by anything. I was one of the few survivors, I don't know how many are left but I haven't seen anyone except for dead bodies. Walking along the highway was like an obstacle course. Trying to walk through all the crashed cars from the EMP and the decaying bodies that stared lifelessly. It kind of made me paranoid that one of the bodies would come alive and attack me, but I was highly certain I was well equipped if that were to happen. Seeing as I was one of the few or last person alive, I could go into stores and take whatever I wanted. Cash was nothing now so I opted for weapons and anything from water to toiletries. I had equipped two .45 pistols and five hidden guns in my backpack and clothes. Being clean was a big thing for me since my dad and brother died from the flu but I would rather die looking at least decent.
Idly walking down the highway, it was soundless besides the soft crunch of dead leaves under my foot. It was like that for a few more minutes. Until three shots pierced the brisk air. It sounded nearby. Maybe one mile east. I knelt in the dark behind a messed up Mercedes waiting for more shots. All I heard was the sound of leaves crunching my way. All I know is that I wasn't moving so it has to be the mystery

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

I was paying Really close attention to the sound when I started to look up, and see a small glow of light. The light had a green tint to it and illuminated the sky. So I lay down in the woods and continued to watch it. The sound was becoming more predominate every second, and so was the light.…

The Hunted I didn’t know who I was. I woke up next to a bunch of muddy kids. They all smelled like they haven't showered in weeks. There was two twins, a chubby kid, and probably the skinniest kid I’ve ever seen. Then I realized I smelled just like them.…

I would like to believe that I learned my personal ethics from my family more importantly my parents. Growing up my parents thought me many things that had several messages attached to them. Those messages I now use on a daily basis most importantly in my career. One of the ethics that I could remember is to be caring and loyal friend, neighbor, family, or co-worker. Having these two ethicses has guided me to the field of psychology and is still helping me.…

Going through the sophomore hallway wasn’t really my preference at all, but I needed to avoid Sarah who was already trying to follow me. Knowing the most common place I would be in was near the vending machines by the lockers, I took a different direction to get past her. The next class I had was English Literature. Daniel and the others were on the other side of the school building so I wouldn’t be seeing any of them if I had decided to pass through the lower class hallways. I didn’t really know what else to be looking forward to the rest of the day, as it was coming to an end with two classes left.…

The global challenge that keeps me up at night is defending society from the “hive mind”: the limiting congregation of people’s minds around a single idea. Hive minds agree on certain issues, be it LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, or gun control. They consist of people who interact with similar people who reinforce those beliefs for the entirety of their lives which can lead to increasingly polarized and isolated political ideas. This problem affects the lives of people all around the world.…

When is it okay to be vulnerable? If you ask my father the answer is never. Maybe I should follow his advice and never be vulnerable. But If I took his advice more often I wouldn’t have ended up at a college 366.16 miles away from home. Change is not something I excel at.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…

Destructive messages are when “both [partners are] so irate that they [say] horrible and unforgivable things to each other… these [hurtful words] often leap out of our mouths, in the form of messages that permanently damage our relationships” (McCornack, p. 275). Last semester, I found out that my boyfriend, Brian Adams cheated on me with a girl named Jillien. I found out because Brian had personal messages calling her “babe” and saying “I love you”. I found this out while he was playing basketball and left me with his phone. I then called him out on the matter and called him a bastard.…

Cars Growing up I had fell in love with cars. I constantly was trying to get my hands on all the hot wheels and remote control cars that I could. I was infatuated with them. There was just something about that sweet sound of a turbocharger making a “swoooosh” noise as it spun super fast, or the loud, deep engine of a hellcat. When the time had come to when I turned 16 and took my drivers test, I was more than ready to be behind the wheel of car.…

Confident, innovative and liberal are words that my best friend would use to describe who I am today. As captain of my high school’s varsity volleyball team, I gained confidence within myself through the times I lead my teammates on the court and inspired them during times of distraught. With the help of Cat Rock, an organization focused on teaching inner-city students how to become outdoor leaders I also worked on becoming a leader as a result of learning how to lead hikes and how to take control of any situation under any circumstances. I am also described to be innovative after I created an app with the help of Camp Interactive, program which helped me create an app prototype that would benefit my community. In the span of three weeks my…
