When I am not in school, and not with my friends, I am definitely doing something lacrosse oriented. Even before I began playing lacrosse, I was told by my bestfriend that lacrosse was referred to as “the creator’s game” by his coach. The first time I set foot on a lacrosse field was in 4th grade, and it is just as hard to take that foot off the field now, as it was the first day. My burning passion for the game only grows stronger the more I play.…

As a child, I have always found joy in helping others out. After school, my friends and I would always roller skate and play street hockey for fun. I always wanted to be on Neil’s team as he was the best at roller skater out of our friend group. I remember on a Thursday evening, as the our street hockey match intensified, Neil skated aggressively and as a result ended up tripping on a rock. I saw his face clench as his elbow scraped the concrete floor.…

“Blood, sweat, and chalk; never tears.” These words have guided my gymnastics career throughout high school. Pretty much starting from the beginning, I had to re-learn many skills and tricks that I had lost after quitting gymnastics for dance lessons in fifth grade instead of joining the competitive team. I’ve always aspired to be a naturally great athlete. While it’s true some are born with inherent athletic talent, I was, for the most part, not one of them. I’ve run, wishing to be the fastest; lifted, wishing to be the strongest; unfortunately, such intentions were, in majority, only fantasies. Though, despite never having achieved the status of star athlete throughout my athletic career, I’ve derived a great amount of invaluable experience from my time in it: experience that I’ve applied in my education as well as all other aspects of my life. In particular, in my participation in sports, if there’s anything that I’ve learned from it, it’s that success requires an absolute wealth of determination and effort.…
