When I was seventeen, I thought I had become mature and independent. I helped planned a family trip to US, and we drove over thirty states. I won several awards for piano, and I also received a level three black belt for Taekwondo. At that time I thought I could handle everything in my life , until I rescued a kitten. The kitten changed My life.

I immediately asked my parents for permission to keep it and they agreed to let her become our new family member. I was really excited because I have special passions on animals, I always want to play with them, hug them. I have a cousin, and she is a vet. She loves all different kind of animals—rabbits, dogs, cats, and birds. I think I inherent same genes from our grandparents. I also want to become a vet in the future. So I did my best and take care of the kitten I rescued. The kitten was really healthy and energetic for several months. I was really

The vet suggested us to do euthanasia because the illness cannot be cured. My parents decided to listen to the vet’s suggestion but I refused to listen to the truth. I couldn’t believe that a life can be taken away this easily. I even went online and find blood donors for my cat live a little bit longer. My parents told me we need to take actions or else the kitten will suffer even more. After a few days I finally gave in and decided to listen to my parents. Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. My interest in the veterinary field began when I was six, when I arbitrarily announced I was going to be a veterinarian simply because I loved animals. Since I was quite young at the time, I was unaware what the job actually entailed. Consequently, I was somehow under the impression that if I watched National Geographic and Animal Planet, then I could immediately become a veterinarian upon graduating high school. I was undeterred when I realized just how much time that needed to be dedicated to school, and instead, it motivated me to take challenging classes in high school and to pursue a job at an animal hospital.…

At the age of 16, I understood completely this whole idea called life. I was independent as ever, working full time, had a car of my own, and assumed that was all there was to responsibility. If you asked my mom to characterize me in a few words, she would tell you that I am stubborn but money motivated. I was able to accomplish anything if I truly put my mind to it. Unfortunately, the entire foundation I had attempted to establish at a young, but fragile age, was about to be ripped out from underneath me.…
