It was tied up 2 to 2 in a heated game between rivals in the state, my team got a penalty kick, I was up to take the kick. I missed, my team was frustrated and deflated but we pulled through because our coach told us not to give up and to forget about the kick. with a minute left we scored and won the game. This experience highlights how my coach taught me about adversity and have perseverance that I still have today. As a soccer coaches, people need to know how soccer can help a player’s self-esteem,promote a player’s inner reflection, and positively impact a player’s life, so children will keep playing the game.

For example ”Before I began playing soccer I was not a fan of team activities. Now I like teamwork and I thoroughly enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. ” (Breeyawna). This sentence shows that playing soccer can change how a person interacts with others and how comfortable they are with themselves. The author goes on to state ”Despite the chaos and high energy that soccer games usually are, simply being on the field gives me the feeling of euphoria. Running against the wind with a ball at my feet is invariably the best feeling ever.” (Breeyawna).
