When I first came to Marvell I was welcomed with open arms. I grew so close to many of the girls in my class and teachers I had throughout the years. Little did I know that these people would be my biggest supporters when my life took an even bigger turn. My biggest blessing was yet to come. During my first year of school at Marvell I met my boyfriend through mutual friends. We were together five years when we found out we were going to have a baby. Although I chose to get my GED instead of homeschooling through Marvell Academy, my teachers and friends were there for me every step of the way. I had my sweet daughter in April of 2015 who will also attend Marvell Academy. It is wild how something so small could change your life in so many ways. I will not ever regret the decision I made of switching schools. I added to my family in more ways than one throughout the years at Marvell Academy. I also received a great education that abled me to get into college. Not only did my education help me get into college, but also prosper throughout my college experience. I would not be where I am today had Marvell Academy not blessed me with my education and family. I can only imagine what other surprises my life has in store for me due to what seems like an insignificant

Being at Fallsvale throughout most of my elementary, and entire middle school years honestly helped me, simply because the stress levels of switching to a new school are very high, and staying at one school really boosted my confidence. I am positive that if I were to have switched schools in elementary, I would have been so nervous to start middle school, and only stay there for a couple years. I also would not have made so many great friends, because I simply wouldn’t have too much time to know them. Staying at Fallsvale definitely helped me make some great friends too; I knew them for a long time, so I always had company as well.
