Personal Narrative: How My Brother Changed My Life

It was just minutes away from seeing my brother for the first time when I fully realized I was going to have a baby brother. Gazing through the glass window at my parents, the doctors, and my brother, was one of the best feelings in the world. Hailey, my older sister, was the one who was patiently standing with me in the waiting room by the window since we had woken up that morning. We both knew that my mom was going to have a baby, but being in the hospital with many family members made it much more real for both of us. I was as eager as a little kid waiting for his birthday to come. Seeing my sister so eager and content to see Zach made me feel the same way, due to the fact that I looked up to my sister and followed almost everything she did. Her smile was a mile wide. I remember being overly excited to say and tell people that I have a baby brother. My older sister has always been a big sister to me, and I always had wanted to say I was a big sister just like her. I could see my dad start to walk out of the room where my mom and Zach were staying. This was the moment when I couldn’t stand still anymore because I was bursting with anticipation to see my baby brother for the first time. Since the day I found out I was going to have another sibling, I was filled with jubilation. We all were able to go into the room where my mom and brother were to see them both. Everyone was so anxious. My pulse was a race car. Zach was so precious and he was the most adorable baby I had ever seen. Being able to say I was a big sister gave me a satisfied feeling. From then on, I knew I was a big sister just like Hailey had been to me. To this day, this is still one of my most memorable days that I can remember clearly that has impacted me
