How I Started Playing Basketball
Do you remember the first time you started playing your favorite sport? If so, when did you start playing your favorite sport? I remember when the time I started playing my favorite sport, which is basketball. I started playing basketball at a very young age. It was back at home where I started playing basketball and during my middle school year, that’s when I start to get better. I glad I started playing basketball at a very young age because I could say that I really got better at it.
It all started with my dad, back in the days, he was always playing with his brothers and friends. He is the youngest of tenth brothers, so whenever they play it’s always a game of five on five playing by themselves and if

Whenever my dad was going to the store, I was always asking him to buy me a basketball because that’s how bad I wanted a basketball and he never did until my birthday. The first basketball I ever got was a green one and the bad thing was that we didn’t have a basketball court at the house so my dad made a homemade one. The hoop that he made wasn’t perfect because it was made out of kinda what you use for your cycling bin and he put it on a big tree that was about one minute and thirty seconds from the house. The other bad thing about the rim was, it wasn’t straight and I’m pretty sure it was to high too. When I nine, that’s when I started playing but I very bad at it because whenever I get hit, I’d always end crying and causing the game to …show more content…
On my mom side, there was a lot of kids that played the game of basketball and they were pretty good at it. The fun thing about it was if you win, you win a prize and i think that was pretty cool because that’s when a lot of kids actually try. The prizes were top ramen and top ramen is very popular at home and we also play for like one dollars. When it was my team's turn to play, I was very nervous and back then was a very shy kid, so when we started playing, I couldn’t even play. Also I didn’t know that basketball had rules because when I used to play with my dad, he never told me if I ever double dribbled, traveled or even anything illegal. So every time my teammates would pass me the ball, they always call for double dribble and at the same time I would argue because I never heard anything about the game of basketball. After that I never actually played for months because I lost my basketball and when I found it, it was flat and it had a hole in. I was very angry because it was a gift from my dad on my birthday, the thing is that I knew someone stole it because a lot of people were very bad people and some were known for being a thief. When my parents moved to the states, I moved back and forth between on my dad and mother sides, I did not take playing seriously because it just didn’t feel the same without them. During that time with my uncle on my father’s side, that’s when I played a lot but I knew that i was very bad at but still I had

I was always the smallest kid on the court…

I had my dad take me to Mallery Recreation Center where every Saturday I would work on a different skill to improve my game. The workouts were intense for a kid that was still in elementary school. The most important parts of my game at the time were ball handling skills, foul shots, layups, and staying in shape. We would begin the practice with suicides and end the practice with suicides. “IF YOU AIN’T IN SHAPE, YOU CAN’T PLAY” are the words that would often come out of coach’s mouth.…
