Personal Narrative: How I Learned To Follow My Religion

My whole life I was taught how to follow my religion from my family. Coming from an lower middle class indian background it wasn’t until late in high school and when I reached the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign that I realized how diverse the world really is. In high school I noticed a disabled kid being left out and I put the effort to make him part of something. After arriving to UIUC I met Gary from China and he arrived here as an international student with next to nothing in his belongings. I also have met a lot of people while socializing in the lobby of Taft Van-Doren with different backgrounds and I got us together to make lasting friendships.
