I was in the hotel with Pasha, my best friend, and my dad. My dad took a shower and went to bed right away. Pasha got a phone call from one of his friends. His friend asked him, “where are you at right now?” I and my friend listening to the dialogue between Pasha and his friend. Pasha said, “the city.” His friend said, “what kind of city?” Every Ukrainian should know where Odessa is. It’s the second main city in the country, next to the capitol. Pasha didn’t know the answer to the question. He came to me and asked me “what city is this?” in a quiet way so no one would know he didn’t know the city. It was so funny because my friend and I thought he should know the city. We laughed a lot. Pasha never asks for help. But that time he came and asked and was kind of like a little kid.
I got my passport and rode on the bus to the capitol city. In the city, we watched Sponge Bob over and over; It was so bad, but Pasha loved it. After that, we took a plane to Amsterdam and my dad had eight euros left. He gave Pasha five and me three. I asked Pasha to give me one euro so we’d be even. He didn’t give me one. I tried to talk to my dad, but I couldn’t say anything in English. I had to draw pictures. I told Pasha, “let’s get some kind of a bar so we can share and not be hungry.” But instead, he bought tic tacs. I was so
